I’m wondering how I can tell the blog to “NOT SHOW” certain categories. For instance, I would prefer it to not show “Porfolio” items or “Featured” items. There are some posts that are meant to only display on the homepage and not on the blog. I just can’t figure out where to shut those off from displaying on the blog.

    Hey paulasworld!

Please edit your blog page and add Blog Posts element and choose to display certain categories and then go to Enfold theme options > Blog Layout > Blog Layout and choose to use Advanced Layout Builder to create your blog page.

Ah ha, I think I got it, but I have another question. The option to “set feature image” seems to have gone missing. It’s not showing up in the right side bar of the post page and now my new blog entry doesn’t have an image displayed on the blog landing page.

    Hey!

Please edit your blog post and click “Screen options” on top right corner and make sure that “featured image” is checked.

I don’t see that option in Screen options. There is no “featured image” check box. The only things unchecked are:

    excerpt
    send trackbacks
    custom fields
    discussion
    comments
    slug
    author

    Hi,

Could you try deactivating all plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict please?

    Regards,

I de-activated all plugins and I still can’t find an option to turn on the “featured photo.” I’m stuck :-(

    Hi!

have you added any type of code at all to your site?
    To functions.php?
That can make a conflict, if you could check

    Cheers!

No, I wouldn’t even know how! I haven’t changed anything except content on some pages. The only big thing that I added was a plug-in for a calendar and I just realized that I didn’t “de-activate that one yet. I wanted to ask you if all my settings and events would be lost if I deactivated it. I’m betting that is the culprit and I will turn it off to test it, but it would be good to know if I’m going to lost everything before I do.

if that calendar is indeed the problem what do I do? I need to have a calendar. Do you know of a better choice? One that works better with this theme?

    #592946

OK, just as we suspected . . . it WAS the calendar plugin. So if you could recommend one for me that works that would be great. Now I have to start all over again setting up my events and event categories. Drat.

    Hi!

Please do try The Events Calendar plugin from Modern Tribe, it is an amazing plugin :-)

Looks very nice. I’ll buy that one. Thanks so much! Buying the theme support was definitely worth it. It’s nice to know that help is right there when I need it.
