    Hi Genius’,
    I want to have an image cover for a Vimeo video which I want to have a link to play the video. I have added the image but I can’t seem to get the link to either open and play in situ or open up a lightbox and play. The only option I could see was to add the video link to the image in the media archive but the lightbox works but not the link.

    I have tried:

    1. Adding image in Code Block with a link to video (but I don’t know how to script it to open in Lightbox/in situ)

    2. I have added image… set Advanced/Image Link Setting to “Set Manually”… Open in Same Window.. and the image in media archive has the custom link set to video link but opens in new window.

    Hey Annemarie,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    You can use an Image element and apply the video URL as the link of the image. The theme then will automatically detect the link and open the video inside a lightbox. Make sure that the Enfold > Theme Options > Lightbox Modal Window option is enabled.

    Hi Ismael,

    that’s actually the setting I have it at (because I know it has worked on other sites I’ve built)… tried doing it over completely but it’s still opening in a new window.

    Just a thought (forgive me if it’s stupid), does it have anything to do with the fact I don’t have the addition shortcode options activated on my Avia Layout Builder only the standard Theme shortcodes?

    If it is anything to do with the PERFORMANCE settings, here is a screenshot:

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

    We cannot find the video link in the home page. Where did you add it? What is the current format of the video URL? Please try to follow the same URL pattern of the video samples listed in the Video element.

    Hi Ismael,

    I AM VERY SORRY…. the actual link was wrong, I had “https://player.vimeo.com/video/157977774” as the link instead of “https://vimeo.com/157977774”. I feel stupid for missing the obvious.. but thank you for knowing your stuff!! :-)
