Hi,
I am so pleased that the Avia layout builder has a template saver, because I’m using it for around 25 pages for my client’s site, all of which are exactly the same apart from the images I upload.
However, I’ve got one small change I’d like to make (I’m adding a page link to the image settings in a hotspot element which appears on every page).
Once a template is created and all the pages are already created in that template, is it possible to re-save the template with my new settings and for that to apply to all the pages with that template on??
October 21, 2015 at 1:28 pm #522282Hi Catty47!
You can enable debugging mode to see shortcodes you have created in pages using Advanced Layout Builder – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/enable-advanced-layout-builder-debug/
You can then copy&paste shortcodes of elements to other pagesCheers!
YigitOctober 21, 2015 at 2:32 pm #522318Ooh, awesome!
How do I enable debugging, somewhere in the Enfold settings?
October 21, 2015 at 2:39 pm #522322Hi!
You should add the code in the link i posted above to Functions.php file in Appearance > Editor :)
Best regards,
YigitOctober 21, 2015 at 2:49 pm #522332Sorry, not concentrating – I see the link now. Doh!
Thanks Yigit, I’ll check that.I don’t have a child theme set up so I’ll have to edit the .php file.
Thanks!
October 22, 2015 at 6:10 am #522738Hi,
If you are not using a child theme I would recommend you start doing so since you will lose your customisations on updates: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/create-a-child-theme/

RikardOctober 22, 2015 at 9:38 am #522792Thanks you guys, will do this.
Should I also add snippets of CSS into the child theme instead of having them in General Styling?
October 22, 2015 at 2:13 pm #522958Hi!
It does not really matter. You can use both Style.css file of your child theme or Quick CSS field for your custom CSS codes :)

YigitOctober 22, 2015 at 3:05 pm #523016Ok, so I don’t lose the General Styling CSS snippets when the theme updates? They are preserved?
October 22, 2015 at 3:22 pm #523028Hi!
Yes, as long as theme names are matching. If you have not changed theme’s name from Enfold to something, do not worry :)

YigitOctober 22, 2015 at 6:30 pm #523209For some reason I’m not able to get my child theme to work properly. I suspect I’m not using the right code in either the style.css or functions.php; I couldn’t find a single source of the best code to use so I’m not sure I have it right!
Are you able to give me the right code to use to create a child theme? I have added underneath the code I’m using in private content.
I’m ok to upload via FTP – the theme is showing us as a broken theme in Appearance-Themes in the Dashboard of my site, with a message that the stylesheet is missing.
October 23, 2015 at 2:12 pm #523824Hey!
open a new ticket for a new question please.
Refer to this on how to use a child theme: kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/

AndyOctober 23, 2015 at 3:39 pm #523913Hi Andy,
Yes, I followed that tutorial and the WordPress codex one on child themes, but it’s not working with the code suggested. But it’s no problem, I’ll open a new thread.
Thanks Andy
