Hello, I may have to change the folder name from themes/enfold to themes/anewname
Would you please suggest how to do this safely? Thanks.

    Hi honesty1993!

Deactivate the Enfold theme then rename the folder. Activate it again.

    Hi,

I created a lot of sites with ENFOLD but never used the child theme option, I always use “custom css” to change some css styles and I never changed the functions of the theme Enfold.

Question : if I do like explained above on existing sites > changing the folder name + I suppose to change the style.css file to another name, will this work properly ?

I red all about using child themes (advantages, how to do it, etc.) but this seems to be too much work for all the sites I created.

    Best, AB

    Hey!

    @anma

I’m not sure about your question, but style.css is a required file by WP – you cannot change the name of it.

You can change the text inside the file like

    Theme Name: Enfold

    to

    Theme Name: yourName

    Hey! :)

When using a child theme with Enfold that has a custom name (folder-name and via style.css), is it possible to also just rename the parent theme’s folder to something else without any issues? If not, what needs to be adjusted?

    Thanks a bunch,
    eC

    Hi,

I don’t think you should change the name of the parent theme since you will likely have problems with automatic updates. But if you want to update manually instead I don’t think you should have a problem doing so.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
