Hello,
I have a site that was originally built with another theme, and with WPBakery. Now I switched to Enfold but I have a problem with permalinks. Before now I went to WPBakery’s permalink manager and changed the permalink, but now I can’t do it anymore, I go to Permalink Manager, Custom Permalink, change the permalink, save and then update, but the permalink doesn’t change. I installed Permalink Manager Lite to remove the “portfolio/articles” prefix from the permalink but that doesn’t work anymore either. I also wrote to WP support because I don’t understand who the problem depends on.May 31, 2023 at 10:36 am #1409112Hey Intercettazioni,
You can change the permalink for each page or post if you select to edit it. The general permalink structure can be changed under Settings->Permalinks.

I tried to change permalink in all the ways I know (as described in the post) but nothing. With WPBakery I used to change them easily, I don’t understand. I necessarily have to edit some permalinks before google penalizes meMay 31, 2023 at 7:33 pm #1409174Hi,
So what exactly are you looking to change? If you meant to give us login details, then you forgot to post a user name.

I need to change some permalinks that I have previously created and sent to Google by Search Console and that have now been automatically changed by Enfold. I am actually not able to change the permalink manually. This is necessary of course for not loosing ranking. I have also previously downloaded the Permalink Manager Light Plugin to be able to remove the suffix /portfolio-articles/ but, the plugin was actually working with another theme (Bridge) and does not work with Enfold
As an example, the current page is https://intercettazioni.biz/portfolio-articoli/cellulari-spia-android-pronti/
but it should be brought back to: https://intercettazioni.biz/cellulari-spia-android-telefono-spia/June 1, 2023 at 7:43 pm #1409305Hi,
Portfolio is a custom post type, that is why it has its own slug. If you want it as a regular post or page, then move the content to either of those types instead. The theme doesn’t change any permalinks without user interaction.

you wrote: “The theme doesn’t change any permalinks without user interaction.”. Well, I have tried changing just a few words of the permalink unsuccessfully. Basically, when I try to change it, it looks like if it was changed but it is not actually saved. As an example, the current page is https://intercettazioni.biz/portfolio-articoli/cellulari-spia-android-pronti/ but it should be brought back to: https://intercettazioni.biz/cellulari-spia-android-telefono-spia/. I changed the last word “pronti” to “telefono spia” but the word cannot be changed, maybe I misunderstood and Portfolio doesn’t change the permalinks at all? What happens if I upload the products in Articles? What is the difference between Portfolio and Article management? I need to restore the permalinks as they are currently indexed by Google otherwise I’ll lose everything.

June 5, 2023 at 4:27 pm #1409634First the permalink structure had to be set to what you like to have on : dashboard – settings – permalinks ( and for portfolio look to the Portfolio Entry Settings below that fields ) – all portfolios will be in that permalink structure. So first you had to adjust the structure there !
then the addendum nomenklatur. If there exists allready a:
https://intercettazioni.biz/cellulari-spia-android-telefono-spia/
you can not rename the
https://intercettazioni.biz/portfolio-articoli/cellulari-spia-android-pronti/
to it !
Be aware that for the Database a post do exist – even if it is inside the trash/bin !!
So if it is that way – you first had to empty the trash !June 5, 2023 at 5:36 pm #1409645Thank you for answering, please find the following:
1. The permalink setting should be correct, see https://img.savvyify.com/image/p0w5
2. The trash is empty
3. What I see in your second figure (edit page) is not actually present in the draft https://img.savvyify.com/image/pDuf even in published posts https://img.savvyify.com/image/phOa
4. In draft I am not allowed to change the permalinks https://img.savvyify.com/image/pk2K even if the setting is correct https://img.savvyify.com/image/pILl
5. In Permalink Manager where I could change the permalink once published, I cannot actually do it, it does not work. https://img.savvyify.com/image/pO51June 5, 2023 at 7:31 pm #1409667But isn’t it then a problem of that plugin ( Permalink Manager ) ? What do they say about your troubles ?
and you are right – I did indeed assume that you were using the Advanced Layout Builder. In this case there is an editor field for permalinkJune 5, 2023 at 7:38 pm #1409669Hi,
Thanks for the update. It does sound like you are having problems with the plugin in question, what happens if you deactivate it? Also, does the same thing happen when a default theme and the plugin is active?
Thanks @guenni007 for helping out :-)

Looking through all the Permalink settings (which I considered correct) I realized that after I changed the theme an extra parameter “Avia Framework” was added, that had not been configured. Once configured, the “Portfolio-Articles” disappeared “, I have yet to figure out how to edit some slugs.June 6, 2023 at 1:19 pm #1409759Hi,
