Hi, I have a website and many of the pages have a badges section just above the footer.
It’s a color section with five columns, and each column has an image with a badge.
I want to swap out a badge and have it automatically update on the 25 pages that also use the same template “2017 badges”
I do not see any way to do this. Thanks
May 4, 2018 at 1:35 pm #951647Hey xuamox,
Is the badge a widget or just an image that is added manually?
Could you please give us a link to your website, we need more context to be able to help you.
Best regards,
VictoriaMay 7, 2018 at 9:14 pm #952880Hi,
The badge is an image inside of an image element that sits in a 1/5 or 1/4 column in a colour region
I save the entire colour region as a 2017 badge template
now I am looking for a quick way to update that badge section
What is the best approach?
I tend to think of templates as objects that you should be able to update, like in the old Dreamweaver days.
Thanks for your help

May 9, 2018 at 1:17 pm #953904Hi,
Thanks for the update. Create a new page for the badge section and then add the Page Content element to the pages where you want to display it. You can then update that specific page every time a change is required. This element works like a global template.

IsmaelMay 10, 2018 at 9:16 pm #954891So just to clarify:
1. Create a new page in wordpress with badge section in it and nothing else
2. Do I save the section as a template? or am I able to call that page content element from any other page?
3. On my old page, I can call up the section from that new badge page
4. Any change I make to the new badge page will be reflected in any other page that uses that new page element? Thanks

Yes, that is correct!
Still please let us know if there is anything else we can do out for you!Best regards,
BasilisMay 15, 2018 at 10:25 pm #957229I must be doing something wrong. Based on the instructions that were given, this is how I understood them.
1. Create a page called “Badges” and create a color region with my five badges in five columns
2. Save the template as “2018 badges bar” and save page.
3. Go to an old page (“carpet cleaning”) and add the new template item “2018 badges bar” and save out the page
4. Update “Badges” page with new image update in template element and save out
5. Refresh “carpet cleaning” page and I should see the change that I made in the “badges” page based on my edits to the template region. The way I think about this it should be less complicated. Why not allow a user to directly edit a template region and then have any instance where that template is used to be updated automatically?
Thanks,
Eric
May 18, 2018 at 7:18 am #958450Hi,
Thanks for the update. You don’t have to save the layout as template. Just create a page, save it as usual then go to the other page. In that page, add the Content Element > Page Content element then select the previous page. That’s it. :)
The changes on the “badge” page will be reflected on the pages with the Page Content element.
Best regards,
Ismael -
