June 25, 2015 at 9:33 am #464468Hi
I’m not from the Enfold support team but it’a quite easy, just add this snippet into the functions.php of yout child theme :
add_theme_support( 'deactivate_layerslider' );
It will remove LayerSlider from you WordPress backoffice.June 25, 2015 at 9:36 am #464470And do not forget to look at the Enfold documentation :) : http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/deactivate-the-layerslider-plugin/
June 25, 2015 at 9:38 am #464477So however remains the plugin and there’s a bug can hack the site
June 26, 2015 at 9:15 am #464803Hey!
Thank you for using Enfold.
The code above should disable the default layer slider. If you install the layer slider as a plugin, go to the plugins panel to disable it. Please remove browser cache or hard refresh the page after adding the code above. Make sure that you add it in the functions.php file.

IsmaelDecember 10, 2017 at 12:38 pm #887088Dear Kriesi,
it would be nice, that you include in Enfold an option to deactivate this complete.
In tens of Enfold installations, i have never use this Layerslider. I have never used also a child theme for some reasons.
And i dont want modify tens of enfold clients pages with every update.That’s not very friendly from Kriesi.
Layerslider make updates very often. In every installtions of my clients is a red (1) for an update shown. Really not nice.
In many installtions, i seePlease file a bug report on bugs.php.net in wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php on line 64

We do not feel very comfortable with your customer relations and Kriesi policy in some areas.Furthermore, that you input automatic your URL in the Footer Socket is from SEO-View goof for you, but bad for clients: They lost Link Yuice to you. For You: Great, you got free backlinks again and again.
Thanks
December 11, 2017 at 7:30 am #887246Hi Hokuspokus,
You only need to do this once on a site if you use a child theme, which we recommend that you do. http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/create-a-child-theme/
You can remove the backlink in the footer by adding this to the copyright field:

Prevent your Solution this error?
wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php on line 64Solve your solution the problem, that layerslider send updates, but it isn’t in kriesi with newest revision?
Is your recommandation the solution that dozen clients of my company see a red (1) for an misisng update?
If you recommend a child theme: What about security holes that are closed in the parenting theme and the whole plugins, which are delivered by Kriesi? What about with page speed – an important SEO and Bounce-Rate factor.
Is your solution the same, what Thorsten Landsiedel recommended?
They want an easy to update solution without any modification in the core.
December 12, 2017 at 6:15 am #887728Hi,
I don’t really understand most of your previous post, but did you actually try to disable LayerSlider on one of your installations and did it work or not?
What security issue would having a child theme introduce and what effect would it have on your page speed? I’m not aware of any, but you are welcome to enlighten me.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 12, 2017 at 11:00 am #887814Dear Rikkard, I feel deceived and fooled by you. I will write directly to Kriesi again to complain about you
With your ex-colleague, this was done a year ago. No problem from my side.My English is not perfect. But this is not a way for you, to handle strong massive buyers of the theme.
At my side: I can’t login, see error messages from the shitty layerslider.
Other clients are also impacted from the shitty layerslider.I’m not Amused. Kriesi clients are not amused
You have understood, that i’m work with dozen clients with enfold?
This is how you drive out customers! Kriesi will like it.
16x Enfold has kriesi sold themes to me and my clients. But if you (or Kriesi) have no interest in further recommendations and selling to a webdesign and SEO company: This is absolute OK for me. I will report this in the “Association of Web Designers” in the recommended theme section and i will revise my recommandation.
Kriesi pay for you, not for me. All is OK. It’s your job. 16x yearly support will ending next time But Kriesi will like your way, we will see.There are enough other developers, which want to sell themes.
In Germany there is a saying: The customer is king. But not at Kriesi, here i’m a supliant. You are not a salesman, hmm?
In this time, where we he talking about this topic: I’m sure that you have written a small script to disable this.Every time … long discussion… I have never seen it at another theme sellers or theme support.
There are enough topics here for deactivating this Layerslider.
In the last time, i have switched to another themes, caused by topics like that. I’m wondering, why is it so difficult to insert a “Layerslider Disbale Button” in Enfold option. Some people have the wish for that. But OK, it’s your decission – with all the consequences for you and Kriesi. And for this, we pay 16x one year support contracting? For this, I pay for you? Not really, you will not get my money and my clients money in the future.
Security and Speed: i’m sure that you know what i mean.
I also feel a little bit deceived by you that it’s so hard to compare your scripts with those of the slider and give me an answer to my questions.And for the another stuff, i will send you screenshots from some of my clients, i hope, pictures will help you.
And i dont know, what is too difficult to see the error, if i paste the rotten code here inside. But i will set it to BOLDPlease file a bug report on bugs.php.net in wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/layerslider.php on line 64

December 13, 2017 at 5:15 am #888202Hi Hokuspokus,
Thanks for the feedback, you are most welcome to write Kriesi about me, although I cannot see that I have done anything wrong here. We’re trying to help you out, nothing else. How have we fooled you for instance?
I asked you a question previously if you have tried to deactivate the LayerSlider since you don’t need it, did that work out or not?
Maybe it would be better if you started a new thread and included admin login details to one of your sites so that we can have a closer look?
Best regards,
RikardDecember 13, 2017 at 5:56 am #888213Hi again,
I just had a talk with one of our developer and we will add an option in the theme options to disable the LayerSlider. I can’t promise that it will make it into the next version, but it will be added at some point. Until then, can you please use the option to disable it manually from your functions.php file?
add_theme_support( 'deactivate_layerslider' );
Best regards,
RikardMarch 6, 2019 at 10:44 pm #1075684This reply has been marked as private.March 6, 2019 at 11:27 pm #1075699By the way – a bit off topic but on your (@hokuspokus) page 22 of that slideshowthat’s just like Enfold uses his (predefinded) child theme.
– there is only functions.php and style.css ( and a little png/jpg for preview)
So from that aspect you don’t need to mention that security risk here.that new option works well on my side here:
( click to enlarge )
but if you want it completely removed you had to get rid of the alb element itself
so delete the folder : slideshow_layerslider in the avia-shortcodes folder.
because the alb loads the js and the css files via:function extra_assets() { //load css wp_enqueue_style( 'avia-module-slideshow-ls' , AviaBuilder::$path['pluginUrlRoot'].'avia-shortcodes/slideshow_layerslider/slideshow_layerslider.css' , array('avia-layout'), false ); //load js wp_enqueue_script( 'avia-module-slideshow-ls' , AviaBuilder::$path['pluginUrlRoot'].'avia-shortcodes/slideshow_layerslider/slideshow_layerslider.js' , array('avia-shortcodes'), false, TRUE ); }
or deregister those scripts via child-theme functions.php
Or: put an empty slideshow_layerslider.php in to your child-theme shortcodes folder and activate substitution via child-theme functions.php by:
add_filter('avia_load_shortcodes', 'avia_include_shortcode_template', 15, 1); function avia_include_shortcode_template($paths){ $template_url = get_stylesheet_directory(); array_unshift($paths, $template_url.'/shortcodes/'); return $paths; }
if you like – try to find here something with layerslider roots: https://webers-testseite.de/elegant/
March 8, 2019 at 1:30 pm #1076350May 15, 2022 at 3:50 pm #1351847Dear support team,
This threat is from 2015 – now, 2022 this issue is still not resolved !!!
I have 8 licenses and the mess with Layer Slider continues to be an annoyance !!!
Wouldn’t it be time to rethink the license you have with those guys????
ThanksMay 15, 2022 at 6:41 pm #1351860Hi,
Since the start of this thread in 2015 there are more options to disable or remove the LayerSlider in the theme options at Enfold Theme Options ▸ Layout Builder ▸ Integrated (Bundled) LayerSlider Plugin,
You can also read in our documentation that the bundled version of the LayerSlider is only updated with theme updates due to the license for the bundled LayerSlider. If you wish to purchase and use a standalone version to update more often, please deactivate the bundled version.
Since this thread is from 2015 and it covers multiple topics, if you have questions about the current version that is not explained in our documentation please open a new thread and describe the issue that you are having so we can assist.Best regards,
Mike -
