    I recently updated 2 out of 4 websites on my shared hosting account from enfold 4.7.6.4 to both 4.8 and 4.8.1. Both websites will not load my homepage at all when I update the theme. My homepages thankfully work after reverting back to 4.7.6.4.

    It’s odd because I’ve only noticed the homepage that seems to not work. I have been able to access a few subpages like an about page by typing in the actual address but I haven’t checked too many pages. I am trying to limit down time as much as possible so I didn’t leave it broken to test too much.

    I also found it odd that 2 of my sites on the same hosting account did seem to work properly. Unfortunately it’s the 2 websites that I truly care about that seem to be broken.

    Hi blinkmm,

    Can you setup a staging site so we can investigate further on the issue? Here’s a simple tutorial you can follow to create a staging site: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/
    Once done, please give us temporary admin access to the staging site and post the credentials in private content.

    I installed the wp-staging plugin as suggested by the provided tutorial link to my website blink.com. I have a link and login credentials below. Thanks again for your help!

    Hi blinkmm,

    Thanks for giving us admin access.
    The issue was caused by the outdated av-helper-slideshow.php in the child theme which is missing the static function default_args
    To temporarily fix this I have added the missing function in the said file, however, I would recommend you to update it with the latest version.
