Home Page won't update and some content disappeared

Hi – having a couple of problems with the home page. I’ve sent this issue to the hosting support to see if they had an answer but they are slow to respond.
1 – Started when some content disappeared off the main site – when I closed out, the next day it was not there. I’m using the “start up business” theme, and the content that disappeared was the “email sign-up” box that I had customized earlier.
2 – Now the home page will not update content… I recreated the content that disappeared and updated the page, but when I check it was not there.
3 – What’s strange is when I check the preview page it shows an old version with the content..
Any suggestions?
