If my browser is not already caching the site below, it seems like the LayerSlider is not loading correctly… the height is reduced and the presentation is partially hidden… making the top header menu area too large:

    http://www.onlineecovercreator.com/

I’ve tried disabling most plugins and testing the site, but even when I think I’ve solved it it’ll start happening again.

I was wondering if someone could tell me whether this is a glitch with LayerSlider or a conflict with a plugin or something else that causes it to load incorrectly quite frequently.

Your advice and observations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Ron

    Hey takingaction!

Just checked your site, refresh it several times, it’s working fine, only suggestion is that you are using a lot of images on the slider, hence takes longer to load, other than that, it’s working.

    Regards,
    David

Here’s a video showing what happens on chrome and I know I’ve had errors in firefox as well, tho I can’t recreate it there today:

    Thanks!

    Hey!

    Thank you for the screencast.

Like David, I don’t see the issue even on page refresh but it does load longer than it should. The console shows that there is a javascript error, this is usually cause by certain plugin. Please try to disable the plugins, see if that helps. Also, try to optimize the page speed by utilizing cache and minify plugins. Plugins that are commonly use are:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/bwp-minify/

    Cheers!

    Thanks very much.

I guess I have to be more persuasive to prove that the problem exists :)

    1. I deactivated all plugins and then I went to another computer.

    2. I opened FireFox and cleared ALL history.

    3. I then closed and re-opened FireFox

    4. I navigated to Google and searched for “online ecover creator” and clicked the link to my website (onlineecovercreator.com)

Here’s the video of what happened:

    http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/c2fnfTnZAO

The error, therefore, is in fact legitimate and is not caused by plugins.

If you follow the above steps you will be able to recreate the error.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this matter!

    Hey!

Does your child theme have any files copied over to replace those in the parent?

    Cheers!

When you last updated, did you also update the header+footer with the new version from the parent theme?

    #250461

    Yes

The only thing I can suggest then would be to try removing the customizations completely and then see if the base theme loads correctly. Then re-add them in one by one to see which is causing the root issue as its not something we’ve had any reports of happening with the base theme or with the last update(s).

This has been happening since day 1. It’s not related to any updates.

    Hi!

    Thank you for the update.

I still can’t see the error but like I said the layer slider loads slower which is probably normal because the homepage includes a whole lot of images from top to bottom. There are certain things that you can do to improve the page speed in your case. First of, please go to wp-content/plugins folder then delete unnecessary plugin folders that you’re not using. On the layer slider, instead of using the 3D transitions, use 2D effects which is lighter. Do the following steps to improve the page loading speed courtesy of the wordpress community:

    1. Optimize all images with AI/Photoshop before uploading to server ‘save as web safe’ jpg
    2. Once all images are on the website optimize with ewww optimizer plugin twice 1hr 10mins apart.
    3. Install wp-smushit run once to remove jpeg extra data, then uninstall.
    4. Use BWP minify plugin to minify scripts and stylesheets.
    5. Install WP-Super cache, select all recommended settings.
    6. Logout your website, visit every page at least once to create super cache files.
    7. Join Cloudflare setup your website on their CDN, Choose options: Full CDN Optimisation save then activate purge files. once done log out.
    8. Have a cup of coffee.
    9. Visit your site after 20 minutes or so.
    10. Don’t forget to smile.

    I hope that helps.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
