    Hey Guys.

Great thanks for the cool support.

    1. I had always ignored the fact that when doing the “site:casadelmedia.com” test, Google kept telling me that my HOME page was not mobile-friendly. This, due to the normal “work in progress” a site implies. However, now I’m really concerned cos’ it doesn’t make sense anymore. Everything (images, tags, layout, etc) has been optimised; nonetheless, according to Google, my MAIN page is still not mobile friendly – that’s freakingly serious!

I’ve already checked other Enflod Forums and couldn’t find an answer. These are the three mobile-unfriendly pages:

If you could help me work out the issue, that’d be very nice.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hey Harold!

    Thank you for using Enfold.

We tested the site today and it passed google’s mobile friendly test.

    Hi Emanuel,

Thanks for checking it out. Yes, in fact, I´ve spent the whole day trying to figure out the less “plugin-invassive” way to improve it, although I didn’t manage to get the performance % higher :( Nonetheless I’m content with the result so far.

I know this has nothing to do with you guys (your concerns must be theme-centred) but I’ll have to use the child theme for some customisations, so I was wondering if the implementation could affect my performance score? Since it consists of clearing as much code as possible (minify) and compressions here and there, will the child theme create any complications or will the optimizing plugins easily adapt to the “new theme” (child)?

    Thanks a lot!

    H.

    Hi,

Using child theme will not affect the performance of the theme in an adverse way please feel free to download and install a child theme for customisation. Inface we recommend using only child theme to make any customisations http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/

    Hey Guys,

I don’t mean to be a pain (though I know I’m), but after creating a new page and a couple of posts, Google is again reporting the very issue of not mobile-friendliness to my 2 main pages home (Casa) and blog (Blog CDM). Please any advice on this would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

Did you add any rules in the robots.txt file? We tested the “blog-marketing” page again and it failed. This is the result:

This page may appear not mobile-friendly because the robots.txt file may block Googlebot from loading some of the page’s resources. Learn how to unblock resources for Googlebot.

    Hi Emanuel.

I’ve just realised that several other pages are no mobile-friendly and cannot figure out a clear reason why. I’ve set the robots.txt file as recommended by one Moderator, in order o block the bots from indexing private content:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Disallow: /wp-includes/
    Disallow: /cgi-bin/
    Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/
    Disallow: /wp-content/cache/
    Disallow: /wp-content/themes/
    Disallow: /*?*
    Disallow: /*?

The strange thing is that when you first tested some pages and told me they were mobile-friendly (you were right, btw), I still had the very robots.txt configuration, so it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Then I though it could be caused by the image sliders or the rotating titles, but now I see that some pages with these two feautres are not reported as mobile-unfrienly. Moreover, I’ve red the Google Webmaster guidelines various times but nothing seems to work.

I’ve also improved the page speed significantly lately, on the mobile version is at 70 right now, and desktop is 88. I’ve done throught the implementation of AUTOPTIMIZE, WP FASTEST CACHE, WP SMASH and WP OPTIMIZE. They all are proved to work well together.

Can you please advise me on this?

    Hi,

You should not disallow those folders because they contain stylesheets and script files. This is why the crawlers cannot render the page correctly. Please remove everything in the robots.txt file, wait for a few minutes then test the page again.

    Ismael

    Cool, you’re right Ismael.

So what´s gonna happen to the dozens accidental “index of everything” pages that the actual robots.txt was blocking from the crowlers?

It’s confusing but for now I’m content about the brand new mobile-friendlyness of my site.

Thanks a lot, great service and theme!
