    Gday Enfold support and users

    My home page Advanced Layout Builder is not working, is only showing a spinning icon. When I switch to default editor, it is just blank, switch back, still blank.

    Non-home pages CAN be edited using the Advanced Layout Builder.

    Running WordPress 5.4.1 Enfold 4.7.4 (via ftp), PHP 7.4, I’ve uninstalled plugins, switched the PHP version.

    The site is also in maintenance mode, but I have provided the wp-user details in the private content field. We cannot provide ftp or cpanel access so I have the File Manager plugin installed.

    Hey Darryl,

    Thanks for the login details and sorry for the problem. You are getting a 403 error on the admin-ajax.php WordPress file, I’m not sure why though.

    Could you try to enable debug mode, then copy all the shortcodes to a new page to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode.

    Also, does the same thing happen if you activate the parent theme?

    Thanks for your reply Rikard…yes, the problem continues when only the parent theme is enabled, and when a new test-home page is created using he shortcodes from debug.

    Not sure what to do now…anyone with ideas?

    p.s. switching themes made my widgets disappear, and were not available as inactive widgets, and had to restore a nightly backup. Should I expect that issue to occur when switching to parent theme and back to child?

    I decided to rollback to an earlier version and it works. Looking at the differences in the entire page shortcodes, I think there was an incomplete pairing that somehow came about, and I assume caused the malfunction.

    Hi,

    Thank for the update, so everything is working as it should now? On the next update then maybe you could perform it on a staging site first so that you don’t risk any problems with your production site?

    It does seem to be working fine now, thanks Rikard. Yes, I agree, I’ll look at improving the staging to production situation. Thanks for your reply Rikard, much appreciated.
