    Hi,

Thanks for the update. The theme doesn’t turn that functionality off, so I’m not sure who did unfortunately.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. If you want to know if the developers of your site did it, then I would suggest that you reach out to them and ask. You could also ask them to correct the mistake they make, which is renaming the theme. I’ve installed the latest version of the theme along with a child theme, so all that needs to be done would be to more the content of your current child theme into the new one. They might have to export your current theme settings as well, then import them when the new child theme is active.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Setting DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT to false should bring back the WordPress file editor yes, and anyone can do that. I would suggest that you try it out yourself first of all.

Moving content to a new child theme and exporting/importing settings would likely take 30-60 minutes.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,
Thank you for your patience, I have just found this thread and have reviewed it, typically this situation is not typically covered by our support because sorting though what an agency has done to create your custom theme can be tricky.
As I recall back in july I was tring to assist you with a issue you were having, I updated your custom theme for you and left it as it was to hear back from you that all was well, as I recall many issues came up after the update and we worked on them, I don’t specific remember how it all ended, but nonetheless we are here now.
So I have changed your wp-config.php to define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true); to allow the theme file editor to show again, and I have modified your “enfold-child” with your “Kropik Child” files then I activated your “enfold-child” and imported your “Kropik Child” theme settings, and cleared your cache a bunch of times and the new Enfold theme seemed to work while I was logged in, but not when I was logged out.
After much research it looks like the agency that created this theme for you created it is such a way the theme adds meta data to the WordPress database that is used for WPML to show the correct pages, I don’t fully understand the reason, but changing to the “Enfold” teme seems to break this and I don’t know how to move this meta data to the new Enfold database.
So I enabled the “Kropik Child” and your site is working correctly again.
Unfortunately I believe you will need to contenue to manuly update or to will need to hire a developer that understands what the original developer did and why, I have not seen this before.
Sorry that I couldn’t be more help.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
I tested by disabling the WPML and enabling the “enfold-child” and tested on Windows in Chrome, Firefox, & Edge when logged out and the site seems to be running correctly.
I left it like this for you to check, if you find any problems you can enable the “Kropik Child” & WPML plugin again.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
Sorry as I understood you earlier, you were thinking to not having a multi language site because:

I have no German speaking clients anyway and it’s a lot of work keeping both up-to-date.

so if you want to go back to having a multi language site please re-enable the WPML plugin.
When I check your site from the frontend it seems to work correctly as a English site, all of the links and pages seem to work correctly, the German pages that you link to above are assiesable without the /de/ as this was part of the WPML plugin.
So if you don’t want to use the WPML plugin and you still want to link to the German pages you can create a new menu just for the German pages.
But this doesn’t make any sense if:

I have no German speaking clients anyway and it’s a lot of work keeping both up-to-date.

I can not see any of your images because they all require a login, try a different screenshot service instead.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
Thanks for the screenshots, I see that your EN homepage URL is /home-2/ and your DE homepage URL is /home/
Try looking at your Enfold Theme Options ▸ Theme Options ▸ Frontpage Settings it is probably set to /home-2/ this would be why the EN page is the default.
To link to your DE homepage /home/ try creating a menu link to this page, either by menu choice or as a custom menu item with the URL added manually.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
If you update your custom theme manually you will need to change the name of the theme files and inside the syle.css to the same names that are currently used, then you can upload in the WordPress ▸ Theme panel and it will overwrite your old one, but I recommend that you save a backup of your old one.
To activate the former child theme I just click on “activate”? And after I can always switch back to the one I created for you.
If you use the Envato market plugin you should not enter the Token in the Enfold Theme Options ▸ Theme Update ▸ Enter a valid Envato private token
Envato has a limit for the number of times you can check a token in each 24 hours, so by using both you are doubling your checks.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi,
I recommend reaching out to the original developer and ask them to convert your custom named theme into a official Enfold named theme so the updates will work.
Since there is a update available, this is a good time for them to do this.
the text string in your URL looks like a cache version, so it sould be from your cache plugin or your server cache, I’m not sure, but this was not there the last time I checked so I’m not sure what changes you have made. I don’t want to “tinker” with it while you are in the process of contacting the original developer. As I pointed out earlier your custom site has custom code that I don’t understand so my “tinkering” could do more harm that good.

    Best regards,
    Mike
