    Hi
I received a message on my WordPress dashboard that Enfold had an update. I clicked to update and then got a service error. Now the website has disappeared completely. I tried to replace the Enfold theme files via FTP but this has not worked.
    Help, desperate…

    Hey travelmen!

Can you please try to increase the allocated memory to 128M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
You can contact your service provider and they can do it for you.
And try renaming “plugins” folder inside wp-content folder via FTP

    Best regards,

    Hello and thank you
Can you explain why it is necessary to increase the allocated memory and what this has to do with the update process?
Also, rename “plugins” folder to what name?
    Best regards

    Hi!

You may have ran out of memory and that could be causing the issue. And changing the plugins folder name to something like “oldplugins” will de-activate all active plugins and solve the issue if it is a plugin related one

    Hi

    No good, I am afraid.
I have changed the memory setting as advised:

    In wp-sttings.php:
    define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘128M’ );

    and renamed the Plugins folder.

For the avoidance of doubt, this has happened while WordPress was performing an update to the Enfold theme, not a plugin.

    Best regards

    Hi!

Can you please try overwriting all theme files via FTP – http://vimeo.com/67209750

    Hi
This is the first thing I tried, downloading from Themeforest and FTPing the whole Enfold folder over.
I have just repeated this process. It is still not working.

    Hi again
I have solved the issue (and without your help…)
Thankfully I had at some stage last month backed up the entire website, Enfold files included, and FTPing these files back into position has restored the website.
None of your suggestions worked. I will think again before I take action to update Enfold theme in future.

    Hi!

    Glad you figured it out!
Issue must have raised from something specific to your installation as other Enfold users are not having issues updating the theme.
We will gladly try to help you if you have any other questions or issues, so if you have any, feel free to let us know!

    Cheers!
