Hi, my web is http://www.rvarq.com I need to ask It is normal that for each uploaded image so many size changes are generated, I have the server exhausted and I’m not sure that so many variations of the same image are truly necessary.
As an example, I usually use 1920×1080 px images, the conversion looks like this:

Is this done directly by WordPress or is it because of the use of Enfold?
Is there any way to avoid it?
Is it possible through some plugin to purge the unused?

Anyway, my doubts remain the same and also with retroactive character, because I have already created the media gallery with around 2000 images and almost all of 1920x1080px. From what I’m looking for, it is not only that Enfold stops creating so many variations of size, but also, to be able to eliminate from the hosting everything unnecessary.

But I dare not test it, do you know Victoria if it has been tested with Enfold?
Why is there not an own Enfold tool to be able to purge all that media without utility?

There are plugins in the repository that already have the this functionality, so adding the same thing in the theme is not really advantageous. Those plugins are safe to use, but it’s always wise to create a backup first before using them so that you can restore the site in case something went wrong.

I know there are plugins that remove media library that is not being used. I refer to the amount of size variations of each uploaded image that is being used by Enfold, but not in all those sizes. So, do you know any plugin that analyzes the size resolutions used by Enfold on the web, and allows you to eliminate unnecessary ones?
If so, could you mention one that has been tested by the Dev Team

We don’t know of any plugin that does that, unfortunately. You have to analyze the site yourself and take note of the thumbnails that are frequently used and those that are not. You can then decide whether to keep, or remove them using the suggested plugin. You can also use a filter to unset the predefined thumbnails that you’re not planning to use — same filter that we suggested in the following thread.

The plugin does its job perfectly, but make sure to create a site restore point just in case. And you shouldn’t worry about removing a specific thumbnail because WordPress automatically falls back to the original image when the specified thumbnail does not exists.

IsmaelWell Isma, as you had well advised, the SIMPLE IMAGE SIZES plugin works excellent. In combination with the also very recommended plugin REGENERATE THUMBNAILS I have been able to get rid of 21698 images in about 2 hours of work, from 4.98 Gb to 1.66 Gb.
