Hi there,
I (like many other Enfold customers) have had problems with the latest WP update.
It has been impossible to use the advance editor (it just keeps spinning around), we can’t change back to the default editor, can’t make changes in the ‘Enfold’ area etc.
I’ve tried:
* Updating the theme (following the video) with plugins enabled
* Disabling all plugins (clearing the cache, refreshing the page etc)
* Then re-enabling plugins
* Updating the theme with all plugins disabled via ftp
NONE of the above in any order fixed the issue.I’ve then tried searching for the answer in the forums and came across somewhere where they recommended editing the wp-config file. I did this and now the website is completely down and I can’t even log into WP. This is the same in all browser versions.
Please help!!!! This is kind of urgent now!!!!
October 20, 2014 at 4:43 pm #338444Hey lisamorrisva!
Please try re-updating the theme via FTP and make sure to overwrite all files – http://vimeo.com/67209750
Please also try to increase the allocated memory to 128M: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
You can contact your service provider and they can do it for you.Cheers!
YigitOctober 20, 2014 at 6:12 pm #338516Hey Yigit
I work with Lisa on this one. The site is currently down.
The theme has been updated via ftp.
We are not able to allocate additional memory with our host. I have had that talk with them more than once before.
All plugins have been disabled via ftp.
Lisa followed instructions in another thread to change the wp-config.php file, which caused the site to crash completely.
wp-config.php has been changed back.
I have now taken a backup of enfold to my computer and deleted the theme files on the server.
Still a white screen on front end and back end.
Can you offer advice?October 21, 2014 at 12:29 am #338772Hi!
Sorry for the late reply, seems like theme was switched to default one and website is loading fine.
What is the current memory limit? Have you tried re-installing the theme via FTP? – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/install-enfold-theme-with-ftp/Cheers!
YigitOctober 21, 2014 at 10:14 pm #339240Hi Yigit
Yes, we had WPCurve get the site back up – and I have had Vaultpress restore old versions of the site from sept. 10th and sept. 9th.
We are now back to where we started with Enfold 2.8.1
And Avia Advanced Editor is still just spinning away.
One.com has confirmed that the memory limit is already at 128 MB and that this is their maximum.
What should we do now?
Best,
Anders.October 22, 2014 at 6:44 pm #339657Hi Anders
Can you please try creating a testing environment and updating the theme there firstly and check how it goes? Maybe some files were broken while updating last time.
Please see – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/move-from-a-local-installation-to-a-live-server/Regards,
YigitOctober 25, 2014 at 10:19 pm #341062Hi Yigit
I was not able to create a testing environment and migrate files like you suggest, so I just updated the files again.
It seems to work this time around.
Problem solved.
Thanks.

If you have not made any changes on theme files you can just go ahead and re-update the theme via FTP – http://vimeo.com/67209750
If you have, please use a child theme – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/Cheers!
YigitOctober 29, 2014 at 12:37 pm #342665Hey Yigit
thank you very much
Changes you mean content and look? Or changes as coding?
As I did change (designed) the content haven’t changed any codes though.
What would you suggest?
Thank youOctober 29, 2014 at 1:17 pm #342678Hey!
If you did not change any codes, you can update the theme – http://vimeo.com/67209750
Best regards,
