HELP!
I think with all the latest plugin, theme and WordPress updates I’m stuck with a website that won’t let me update any posts or pages without getting the following error:“The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”
The email I received says the following (links the email refers to are pasted in the private content, along with login credentials):
Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, Enfold.
First, visit your website and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught and check for any visible issues.
Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.
If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.
Error Details
=============
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 602 of the file <<see private content>>. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘includes/class-avia-custom-pages.php’ (include_path=’.:’)I literally can’t do anything on the site and we are desperate!
Thank you!!
UPDATE:
I did some digging and my best guess is that there’s a conflict with Woocommerce. I rolled back my Woocommerce plugin version and am the process of redownloading & resinstalling each plugin one-by-one. So far I’ve seen the “technical difficulties” error after activating a couple of plugins, but doesn’t seem to be directly related to any particular plugin since there doesn’t seem to be an issue after refreshing the page. So far, adding new/editing products doesn’t seem to be the same issue as it was before.- This topic was modified 5 years, 5 months ago by Kelly Erickson.

June 27, 2019 at 7:19 pm #1114070My problem isn’t solved yet, it just doesn’t appear to be directly related to product publishing/editing specifically. It still only happens when I have the Enfold theme activated along with Woocommerce. So, unfortunately, the problem is still there.
You can replicate the issue by activating/reactivating plugins – I believe!
June 28, 2019 at 3:24 pm #1114274Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Is it happening on any page? Is it intermittent? We can’t reproduce the issue on a test page that we have just created. (see private field)
Best regards,
IsmaelJune 28, 2019 at 9:24 pm #1114363I just tried updating a product and I got a blank screen – It’s blank instead of the “The site is experiencing technical difficulties) because I had to roll back my version of WordPress to get the site functioning at a minimum. The only way I can update the products is if I disable Enfold.
Also when I re-enable Enfold, I also get the blank screen slash error.
Lastest error shown below.
June 29, 2019 at 7:33 pm #1114490Hi kellyCraftMedia
Which version of WooCommerce are you using?
The latest version currently is 3.6.4 which I am using in combination with Enfold – no issues so far due to WooCommerce.Cheers
MichaelJune 30, 2019 at 5:49 pm #1114624Hi kellyCraftMedia,
This is not theme related actually. Please have a look here

VictoriaNovember 6, 2019 at 8:55 pm #1154408Hi,
Same problem here. I can do nothing with the site. I have no more access to WP back-end. Only Authentication works.
This occured when I updated Enfold child to the current release 4.6xx . This is what I get :

November 7, 2019 at 12:59 pm #1154612Hi xtenz,
Which version of PHP are you running on the server? Please make sure that it’s 7.1 or higher. If that doesn’t help then please try to delete the entire theme folder via FTP, then upload it again. If you should need any further help then please open a new thread.
Best regards,

November 8, 2019 at 6:21 am #1154853Hi xtenz,
Thanks for the update, where can we see and reproduce this problem?
Best regards,
RikardNovember 8, 2019 at 8:52 am #1154876What do you mean ? You want to break my website again ? 😏😏
No way 😂😂😂November 9, 2019 at 3:49 am #1155142Hi xtenz,
Thanks for the update, but if we can’t see the problem then it’s more or less impossible to help you out. The latest version of the theme and the configuration you are listing should work without any problems.
You should consider having a staging site, so that you don’t run into problem like this in the future.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 11, 2019 at 1:05 pm #1155566I am also having these difficulties.
We upgraded to PHP 7.2 and the admin dashboard broke.
I have tried reinstalling using the lates version, but I get the “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions” error.
If you need access to the site in question, please let me know asap.
November 11, 2019 at 6:44 pm #1155721Hi head_honcho,
Can you please check server log for error?
Best regards,
VictoriaNovember 12, 2019 at 1:52 am #1155786Thanks for the reply…
Turns out there was a conflict with a plug-in (Theme worked without the plugin, plugin worked without the theme) that resulted in too much memory being used. Error: “Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32768 bytes)”
Updating the memory allocation with: define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ ); in the wp_config file brought everything back.
Normal service has been resumed.
November 12, 2019 at 8:54 am #1155864Given the number of people who have the same kind of problem maybe you should consider publishing updates that work.
It would be a very good idea too :-)November 12, 2019 at 9:47 am #1155933Hi xtenz,
Thanks for the brilliant feedback, we never thought of that before. Given the number of people who has no clue how to maintain a WordPress site, I think your suggestion is impossible unfortunately.
Also, the error message which this thread is about is a WordPress error message.
Best regards,
RikardApril 15, 2020 at 1:01 pm #1203958Any news on how to solve this?
I have the same problem. I’ve deactivated and activated all plugins, there seems to be a clash with the avia buider and the classic editor but I have no idea how to fix it.
April 15, 2020 at 5:50 pm #1204083Hi pedrvs,
Credentials did not work for me. Could you please update the credentials?
Please deactivate all plugins one by one to check which one is causing this issue and let us know if this solves the problem.
Best regards,
VictoriaJune 15, 2020 at 10:41 am #1222590Hi, we are facing the same issue today. And please help me fix it ASAP!!!
