My header widget does not display – I had this problem before, it disappeared again after the update even though I had added css to custom css location. What do I need to do to make visible?

When you update the theme, functions.php file gets overwritten and code must be removed. Please make sure that you have it in Functions.php file – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/adding-a-widget-area-to-the-header/
