Hi,
I’m a little new to WordPress and I’m having some trouble getting the Enfold theme to do what I want it to do, so I was hoping I could get some help here. I have a blog that I want to reside in a subsection of my site so that the urls would look like this: http://lasers.staging.wpengine.com/resources/faces-of-lasers/post-slug (hosted on WPengine)
I am not entirely sure how to set things up to get that url structure. Also, when I look at the blog posts, I have it set up to display the subnav in the sidebar. Ideally I would like it to just show the subnav for the resources section, but when I view a blog post, it has the links to all of the pages in the site, then it has a list of categories, etc. I am not entirely sure how to get this working.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,
Brian

Thank you for using Enfold.
In the Settings > Permalinks panel, select the Custom Structure field then fill it with the following permalink structure.
/%category%/%postname%/
You cannot insert more than one category in the url. https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

Thanks for the response, however this didn’t solve my issue. And I have a couple, of others. Here’s what I’m trying to do:
I have a section in my site called resources and in there I have blog called Faces of Lasers. I have set up the blog and I have Faces of Lasers as a category that my posts are categorized into. I am aiming to have the url structure for these posts look like this: http://lasers.staging.wpengine.com/resources/faces-of-lasers/roland-j-babin/ where roland-j-babin is the post name. I have got that working with the custom permalink structure. The problem is, the subnav on the post’s page is showing a full list of all of the pages in the site and the category list, and the archive list. I was hoping I could get it to look the subnav on this page: http://lasers.staging.wpengine.com/resources/faces-of-lasers/ (hosted on WPengine) but have it do it automatically like it does on the pages in the site (meaning without having to build a custom menu for the sidebar since the theme seems to generate the subnav on it’s own already).
I am also having some issues with the Blog Posts content element. On this page: http://lasers.staging.wpengine.com/resources/faces-of-lasers/feature-stories/ I was hoping to use the Blog Posts element to display the latest post in the Faces of Lasers category. I have it set to display blog posts, I have the category set to Faces of Lasers, and I have the Post Number set to 1. It is pulling the right article. The problem is, I have it set to show the Full Content for the article, but it isn’t showing it. It shows the feature photo, a big blank space to the right of the photo, and a read more button at the bottom. I have tried changing the settings but it doesn’t do anything. On this page: http://lasers.staging.wpengine.com/resources/faces-of-lasers/ I have the same widget but with different settings because I wanted to show just the one article with just the excerpt on this page. The settings are different from the featured story page (I have it set to display blog posts with the Faces of Lasers category, just the one post, but instead of showing the full content I have it set to show the excerpt with a read more link) however the output is the same (featured photo, blank space to the right, read more link below).
Can you help me to resolve these issues? If you need more login info please let me know and I can send in a private psot.
Thanks,
Brian
August 23, 2016 at 5:24 am #676163Hi,
I’m sorry but that is not possible without major modification on the theme. You have to build a custom menu for each page manually. If you want more control over the widget visibility, use the following plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-logic/
For further modifications, please hire a freelance developer or contact our partner, codeable. http://kriesi.at/contact
Regarding the blog issue, the full content of the post do not display because it was created with the advance layout builder. Use the default editor if you want to display the full content. Unfortunately, you cannot use full width elements in the default editor.
Best regards,
