Hi, I just want to create a page with a 4 column galley and have the image titles underneath like the portfolio categories.
Clicking one of them goes to a sub category page with another 4 column gallery with image titles underneath.
Clicking them opens in a lightbox.
Also want them to move to a single column when viewed on a mobile phone.
Would also like the page urls to be http://www.sitename/category/subcategory.

Can any of this be achieved somehow?
    Thanks.

No worries, found out the masonry gallery can do all of that, well except the first part which can be achieved by setting a 4 column layout and adding single images to each column with a text box underneath, then you can link the images to whatever page you want.

    Hi!

    Thank you for using Enfold.

If you’re using the masonry gallery, you can add a custom link on the gallery item. Edit the gallery again then click the images on the gallery. Look for the Custom Link field.

    Best regards,

    Thanks,
Is there a way to change the text underneath each image?
I need the first page to have category names underneath but it just displays the title of the image.
I see you can edit the text underneath the images when editing the gallery but there’s no option to display that text instead of the image title.

    Hi!

It is possible to show the caption below the image. Edit the masonry gallery then look for the Image Title and Caption. Set it to display just the caption.

    Best regards,

When viewing the images in lightbox.only the caption is shown underneath so I’ve had to copy the image titles to caption box.
If the the image titles were shown when scrolling through the images in lightbox then I could change a caption to a category name..
Unless there’s part of the code I could change to make the lightbox show image titles?

    Hey!

Can you post a link to your gallery page please? This is only possible if the image title is stored somewhere in the image link code – then we can use js/jquery to use the image title as link attribute/title.

    Cheers!

The trouble (Which I forgot to mention sorry) is the image linking to the the category is also in that category.
For it to work the masonry element would have to have an option to use a custom link and name that is separate to the image custom link and name which i’m pretty sure is not possible without a major change to the code. So I think I’ll just have to re-upload the same image but change it’s filename to something else.

    Hey!

Yes, this is probably the best solution. You could also use dedicated gallery plugins like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-nextgen-legacy/ to manage the image galleries. The advantage would be that no duplicates show up in the default wordpress media gallery.

    Best regards,
    Peter
