We support our partners (web agencies, graphic designers, copywriters, marketing) with technical solutions for their customer websites.
A new partner from Austria would prefer the Enfold theme for her new customers and I should give a technical assessment for the compatibility with Gutenberg.
You wrote in the support forum a few days ago that the current version is basically compatible, but not yet fully.
Is it possible that I can install a demo version without a license on my local computer to take a closer look at the functions?
The customer from Austria is very satisfied, but has used the Classic Editor so far.
For reasons of sustainability, it is important to me that Gutenberg is already up and running.
If this is the case, I might recommend it to my own customers as well.
Hey Regina Oswald,
Thank you for considering Enfold.
The theme is compatible in a way that you’ll be able to choose between the two editors, the one from the theme called Advance Layout Builder (ALB) and the new block editor (Gutenberg), without encountering any errors or issues. However, don’t expect that you’ll be able to switch between the editor and edit the same set of content because these builders are completely different from each other. The ALB utilizes the default WordPress shortcodes while the other create blocks, so you can’t transfer the the content between the editors. It doesn’t really make sense to purchase the theme if you’re not going to use the template builder (ALB) that comes with it.
Best regards,
Ismael
