Hi Genius’
I have a full width Grid row of 4 images (4 x 1/4 ), cells are set to sit side by side and each has a caption on hover. Is there a way for me to apply instruction for the 4 images in the grid row to separate and stack singularly on their own on mobile devices and stay side by side on larger devices? When the 4 images reduce down to mobile width not only are they hard to see clearly but the caption text would have to be 6px to read it!
I’ve always binned many creative ways of displaying info because of this problem but perhaps there is a genius solution.. so I’m here begging the ‘Genius Team’.

Could you provide us with a link to the site in question so that we can take a closer look please?
Thanks,

Unfortunately the site is not live yet and because of networking marketing laws is riddled with pass protection for the moment… however I hope I can demonstrate what I mean with this picture.
I have snagged shots of a grid row of 4 cells set to ‘side by side’on pc, ipad and mobile. PC and ipad views, no problem. But when it reduces to mobile width, having the 4 images stay together means they are not clearly visible (and any caption would be out of the question). As the site is not live I have only manually shrunk the browser down to mobile width to view and so I am wondering if there is already a pre-setting in this grid that will separate the images on mobile so they stack individually??

There is, open the Grid Row popup and look for this option – http://screencast.com/t/JD3LOCrtQWuX
Cheers!

If I set the cells to “display on their own” then pc and mobile look ok but it looks ridiculous on ipad as the images get separated- On ipad the user has to scroll through 8 BIG images stacked
… it destroys the mission to display alot of information effectively for the user.
I too wish all these devices didn’t exist… I would hate to be a developer always being asked the ‘impossible’!!

Can you post a screenshot of the view on iPad?

JosueSeptember 28, 2015 at 4:47 pm #510257Perhaps I will have to wait until I can go live to see how it behaves for sure.. as I mentioned Josue I am not viewing it on ipad… I am using my pc and shrinking my browser down to ipad size (and mobile) to see how it responds because the site cannot go live yet to test on devices.
All I want is to have the 4 images stay together on pc and ipad and them separate for mobile but I don’t how to ensure that happens.
I did try reducing the size of images selected from full size 500x 500 to medium 450 x 450 to see if the size helps the cells stay together on ipad view but it didn’t make any difference.
September 28, 2015 at 11:18 pm #510457I see, would be better then to wait until you publish the site somewhere so we can also look at it live, let us know through this topic.
Regards,
Josue -
