Hello,
I’ve been trying to set up a blog page with either the grid or masonry layout, but instead of posts these two layouts are pulling pages – existing pages as well as links to pages that have been deleted (which really puzzles me.) I tried using the other layouts and they worked all right, e.g. ‘Single Author’ displays posts correctly.I read on the forum that someone had a similar issue and it had something to do with a plugin that added categories to pages. I don’t think I ever used such a plugin but just to be sure I have deactivated all plugins bar SEO/Stats plugins and Google Fonts, although it makes no difference. I’ve also deleted all the post categories, but still no joy.
I have included login information in the private section, as well as link to the blog test page that shows the Masonry and Grid layouts (displaying existing and non-existing pages) and the Single Author layout (displaying posts).
Hope you can help :)

Thanks for the login details. You haven’t selected any categories to pull posts from in either of the elements you have on the page. Could you try to select a category or taxonomy to see if that works please?
Best regards,

I’ve now added and selected a few categories. Originally I did have several categories but deleted them all yesterday to see if it would make any difference, but it didn’t. No change now either.
Kind regards,

Thanks for the update, but you haven’t assigned any posts to the categories. Please see private. You also need to publish your posts, the ones I see on your site is either private or drafts.
Best regards,
RikardApril 2, 2020 at 10:42 am #1200092Hi Rikard,
I thought I had assigned the posts to their respective categories (I did it directly from the ‘edit post’ pages), as the categories were displayed in the “Single Author” blog layout, so that’s a bit weird.
But hurrah!! Problem solved!! Changing the post status from ‘private’ to ‘public’ seems to have done the trick! (and the page you sent me above now shows that posts have been assigned to categories, so all good!)
Honestly it was a little bit confusing because like I said, all the other blog layouts were pulling the posts without any issue (regardless of the ‘private’ or ‘public’ status or categories); while the Masonry and Grid layouts were pulling pages instead of posts (and at some point even a mix of posts and pages which I forgot to mention before). It was also quite puzzling that Masonry and Grid were seemingly pulling pages that no longer existed (I made sure that the trash was empty and I cleared the cache but it made no change.) I assumed that the various blog layouts would all pull the same thing and would pull posts only. So I hope this can be helpful to others who might encounter the same issue :-)
Thanks a lot for your help Rikard, ticket can be closed,
All the best, and stay safe!
