    After days of looking and most posts not working… I found the code below that DID get rid of the pencil Icon and grey background however, now all my small icons are gone too.

    In functions.php – get’s rid of grey pencil background and icon… AND featured image on pages and previous and next arrows.

    .template-blog .blog-meta, .multi-big .post_author_timeline, .single-small .post_author_timeline { display: none !important; }

    Is there a way to have the featured images show up but NOT the icon and grey background?
