When I do a google search for the site, i.e. ‘propionhealth’, Google show the Title as ‘Untitled’ but does show the tag line. The Title field is entered on the site, the browser tab show the title and the Google indexing is on. Any suggestions?
Dave.November 30, 2023 at 7:35 pm #1426841Hey David,
I believe that this may be the logo image, it has no title and the alt tag is the text showing in your search results, try adding a title in the logo image in the media library and them go to your Google Search Console and request a new crawl of your page.
Perhaps the last crawl was while you were still building your page.Best regards,
MikeDecember 1, 2023 at 10:32 am #1426873Have you ever thought about displaying a real clock in the logo?
see: https://weber.tips/clock/December 2, 2023 at 7:06 pm #1426978Hi Mike,
I’ve added a title to the logo and also included it in the alt tag. I looked into the Google Search Console re-crawl but it required a property with a domain name text entry for proof of ownership which completely confused me. Can I just wait for the next Google Crawl Cycle and see if it works.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
Dave.December 2, 2023 at 7:10 pm #1426979Hi Guenni007,
The clock idea looks interesting. Can you let me know how to do that. Maybe we should start another topic. This one’s getting a little crowded. How do I post a topic directly to you.
Dave.December 2, 2023 at 7:53 pm #1426982Hi,
Sure if you wish, if it helps try these steps, if you see this Verify domain ownership via DNS record
and you added custom nameserver DNS URLs where you bought your domain from, like NameCheap.com
which points to your webhost with a cPanel, you can go to Zone Editor
then click “add record” ▸ “add TXT record”
then add the domain name like the other TXT records (without https) and paste the google code:
and wait a few minutes and the click “verify” on the google Verify domain ownership popup:
I had to wait about ten minutes and check three times on my test site, but this I got the success message:
then you can go to URL Inspection see the Request Indexing button which you can use to get Google to re-crawl and re-index your URL.
But you might have to wait a day before doing this, as I found that with a new account and domain google shows the message Processing data, please check again in a day or so
But at least you got the ball rolling, in the future you will find the Google Search Console to be very helpful.Best regards,
MikeDecember 2, 2023 at 8:01 pm #1426983Thanks for this info. When I looked at that I got the same screens but I couldn’t find how to add/copy the text record which is why it got a little confusing. I’ll check your info and see if I can get it done.
Thanks,
Dave.December 2, 2023 at 8:40 pm #1426991Hi Mike,
This was quite a challenge but I finally got to the host’s cPanel and the domain records and added a TXT record and requested a re-index. I should have stayed in the pizza business.
I’ll give it a few days and see if it’s fixed.
Thanks for all the info screens. They were very helpful.
