Hi there,
We have used your enfold theme for a company website and it seems we may have been hacked.
When you type our website url into google, the first search result returned shows a different title and tagline.
In the theme everything looks fine and the proper title and tagline are there – it is as if it is being overwritten somewhere somehow.
We contacted the hosting company and they have said that everything seems to be fine and therefore they can’t help. We were wondering whether you know what has happened and can offer any advice?
Many thanks in advance,
Verity(Details of site and result below)

Can you please post a link to your login screen? Neither /wp-admin nor /wp-login.php worked for me.
Best regards,

I was wondering if you have had a chance to look at this yet?
Many thanks,
VerityDecember 7, 2016 at 4:09 am #721306Hi,
It is displaying a different website in the search page called “wwwdotfathersglorydotcom/”.

I’m not sure how the site outranked you but, unfortunately, it’s not something we can help you with it. Please ask google to recrawl the site and consult an SEO professional to check the site.

IsmaelDecember 7, 2016 at 2:52 pm #721499Hi Ismael,
Thanks for getting back to me but this is not about ranking or SEO. The other website has somehow taken over the title and snippet of our website, this only happens in the search results in certain conditions, please see full details and screen shot in private content.
I have asked google to recrawl the site twice in the last week and the error remains.
Thanks,
VerityDecember 11, 2016 at 5:32 am #722770Hi,
Did you check my screenshot? Please test it on another network. After a “recrawl”, it will take weeks, even months before google update the search results.
Best regards,
IsmaelDecember 12, 2016 at 1:58 pm #723106Hi Ismael,
Yes I did see your screen shot – as I mentioned in previous messages the error has never occurred with the http:// prefix being typed into the google search engine – it has only ever occurred with just the www. prefix – as per my screenshot. Did you try this also? It has been checked by many people on different networks and the error still exists. You mention that it may be ok in a couple of weeks or months with a recrawl – however the question remains how did they manage to change the title and snippet in the first place and if nothing has changed to correct however they did it, the recrawl is likely to have no effect.
Thanks,
VerityDecember 14, 2016 at 11:33 am #724213Hi,
as already mentioned this is nothing we can help you with, as this issue is not a theme related one. You would have this issue with any other WP theme as well. So please ask Google support and/or general WordPress support about it.
Best regards,
Andy -
