My site is finally being picked up with google and it’s showing enfold code within the description EVEN THOUGH it’s not in the text of the page. Here’s an example from Google (without my site info):
TITLE OF MY SITE
http://www.myurl.com
av_textblock size=” font_color=” color=”] Southeastern Pennsylvania’s Real Estate Source [/av_textblock] [av_icon_box position=’left’ boxed=” icon=’ue84d’ …My question is how this happens.
I am now using “Add Meta Tags” to help overwrite this issue. Any ideas? Also, I am not using a general template – so should I change a master file to fix this on all the pages this happening on or other ideas? Thanks.

You can install this plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/, to easily set the description tag.
If your still having problems after doing that and clearing your cache then send us a link to your page and we’ll take a look.

ElliottJune 18, 2015 at 5:46 pm #461477I have another description / meta tag pluggin for this – BUT – the theme is giving off HTML code to google as the description or page content.
That needs to be addressed in the enfold theme to prevent that from happening. I love the other SEO pluggins, but a basic site should not have to worry that not adding it will by default produce gibberish text as a description.
June 19, 2015 at 2:24 pm #461907Hi!
So there is extra stuff being added to the title and description? Enfold would not be doing that, are you sure it’s not a plugin? Send us a link to your page and we’ll take a look.
I would try deactivating all plugins and then clear your cache and view the page source to see if it’s being added by a plugin.
Cheers!

June 19, 2015 at 2:30 pm #461914Hi!
Please give us a link to the actual site so that we can check it. Anyway, I’m not sure if we will be of any help at all. It will take some time before google or any other search engines crawl your site again, a week or even a month. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/04/url-removals-explained-part-ii-removing.html
You can also ask google to recrawl your site: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en

IsmaelAugust 28, 2019 at 4:16 pm #1131639Has anyone found a solution for this? My website: AETuckerconsulting.com is doing the same thing.
See Meta description code here:

We don’t really see anything unusual in the search results. What should we be looking for?

Thank you for using Enfold.
