…even though they’re all marked “Privvate”. Is there a way to prevent this from happening ro should I delete all the pages from the CMS?
And if I delete them can I resotre them should I need them later? I only have 6 public pages total on the site now.
Hi Andy. Thank you fro your response. I don’t think Yoast will affect the outcome. Would you mind answering one question: If I delete the template pages that came with the theme (and which I’m not using), and which I assume will prevent them from showing up on a Google search, can I retrieve those pages at a later date should I need them?
In other words, can they be selected put into the site at a later date?
Thanks again for your assistance.
Hi!
Perhaps Google crawled the pages while they were still set to public status. You can login to your google webmaster tools and update / remove the pages, https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663691?hl=en.
Or do like Andy said and use the robots.txt to prevent Google from crawling them again. The Yoast plugin lets you easily set a page / post to “noindex”. It’s in the “Advanced” tab of the SEO settings when you edit the page / post.

Hey!
I deleted the first one because it’s on this thread but for the other two you’ll need to send us links to the posts so we know which ones to delete.

Elliott
