Same problem here. I switched back to version 3.6.1 and the map shows again. I’ll wait for something more definative, or the new Enfold.
August 10, 2016 at 10:13 am #670721Hi
Nice if it works when you add plugins, but I want to let it work without any extra plugin, this is a problem which needs to be solved bij Kreisi !!
There is a problem with java and maybe something else.
@yigit when does the team of developers dive in to this problem???August 10, 2016 at 10:35 am #670728Guys what kind of error messages do you get? Chrome -> F12 and load page ->Console and look Error
I am facing the following issue: on mobile google maps is visible…on firefox and chrom fullsize not.
August 10, 2016 at 11:34 am #670771Hi,
Here (https://youtu.be/2712YGYjOqg) you can see what happens.
First you don’t see the map, and after a refresh the maps shows for a split second.

August 10, 2016 at 4:15 pm #670908I agree @perfortuna. I’d prefer no extra plugins – but it’s been a few weeks already and I have clients very eager to get their site live. I’m surprised and disappointed that so many are having problems with the update to Enfold – but I guess I’m glad it’s not just me! :-)
August 10, 2016 at 4:24 pm #670917If they can not solve the problem, no problem, I will use an other thema in which everything works well.
I give the developers off #kreisi just a few days. I have to have a the website live in 8 days.
August 10, 2016 at 4:53 pm #670956Well its not a “extra” plugin, you will always need a speed optimizing plugin to get you website ranked high on Google.
So if you dont use it now, it might be a good idea.
Theres several other fine plugins, that do the work as well:
WP optimize speed
Better Wordpres minifi + Wp cacheTry to look at Google Pagespeed, and run an analysis on your website.
August 10, 2016 at 5:04 pm #670970I want to have a good working Theme out off the box, if I want to use other plugins is not the question. There need to be a solutions for this not correct working part off the theme.
August 10, 2016 at 5:15 pm #670980#perfortuna
I agree, I just offend see stuff not working because of browser caching problems and not actually the theme – W3 Total cache takes care of that issue. But lets see, if they come with a update.
August 10, 2016 at 6:13 pm #671031Thanks for the info and links re page speed jjdenmark. I know its not really the topic of this thread, but I have been struggling with speed issues on another site and you’ve given me a start in the right direction. Thank you!
On the whole though, I’m with perfortuna. Any plugin is an “extra” – I like to use as few as possible.
August 10, 2016 at 7:57 pm #671056Same problem, follow the topics
August 10, 2016 at 8:27 pm #671063Hi:
Just thought I would chime in and say that I set up a new API for my client, and have their URL set as *.sunshinephoenix.com/* to see if there was a positive result.
There has been no change… :-(
Regards, Ned
August 10, 2016 at 8:35 pm #671065I am using a plugin for the API Key and the map works just fine as a widget in the sidebar, but I am still getting the “oops” error on the pages where I have used the advanced page layout to insert the Google map.
My URL in the Google Credentials is actually set as *.domain.com with no /* following. Which I did by accident, but it is working. Which is weird – I thought the wildcard is how to ensure it works on all pages but my widget does anyway. I’m not going to mess with it for a while. :-)
August 10, 2016 at 9:23 pm #671073The solutions discussed here worked for me once I configured the domain as http://mywebsite.com/*
I also noticed that the Latitude/Longitude coordinates in the map are inverted in the Enfold Google Map media element. I entered Latitude/Longitude without looking at the labels. My map pin was placed in Antarctica ;)
Perhaps there’s a good reason to list the coordinates as Longitude/Latitude, but I’m thinking it might be helpful to present those fields with latitude first. It would have prevented some headache at least for me!
Many thanks to Kriesi and team for your work on this issue. Such is life when the API provider changes things on you.
August 11, 2016 at 10:22 am #671232Just subscribing, same trouble here:
– Cannot add new locations, since the element does not fetch the coordinates
– Existing locations are not shown; instead I get the ‘Whoops’ messageTried all kind of workarounds, nothing does the trick so far…
August 12, 2016 at 1:17 pm #671813Hi,
Please setup the Google maps API key as mentioned in the link below
Google maps work great with the latest updates. While setting up the API key make sure to add
/*
at the end of your site name in the API options.Example http://kriesi.at/*
Best regards,
VinayAugust 12, 2016 at 7:44 pm #672039This worked fine for me. Thanks.
August 12, 2016 at 8:21 pm #672045Hi:
I have done everything according to your instructions.
I have loaded your widget into a sidebar and footer with the “oops” message as a result. The Avia Google Map media element is no better. This sure is frustrating — hope you can devise a more universal access!
Regards, Ned
August 12, 2016 at 8:25 pm #672047Today I discoverd something, when I place the google map in a Widget I get the Oops error message. When I remove it from the widget and place the map on a page everything is working.
There must be something wrong when the map is placed in a widget.

August 12, 2016 at 8:33 pm #672052Perfortuna, I am having the exact opposite effect. (Although I am using a plugin for the API key.) My widget map works perfectly, but my in-page maps have to Oops message! I’m going to try using the Enfold theme for the key and see if anything changes.
August 12, 2016 at 8:35 pm #672053So I just went in and added the API key in the Enfold theme and now all my maps are finally working for the first time. Maybe try the API key plugin and see if your widget maps work then too?
August 13, 2016 at 6:11 am #672186I have the same problem here tried everything suggested in this forum nothing worked.
Then I simply turned off “Sidebar Settings” in the layout for that contact page with the map and its works !!!!!
So there must be some connections between the sidebar settings.
I’m not saying this is the perfect fix but for now it at least keeps my client happier until it’s resolved.
I hope the team at Kriesi see this and work out a connection.Good Luck
August 16, 2016 at 9:50 am #673089Hi,
Google services like the map feature is now constrained to work with an API key. It is easy to get the Google API key please refer to this link
Add your API key in the theme options Enfold > Google Services
While setting up the API key make sure to add
/*
at the end of your site name in the API options.Example http://kriesi.at/*
If it is still not working for you please create a new ticket elabourate the issue and share the login credentials in private.
Best regards,
VinayAugust 16, 2016 at 10:04 am #673094Hi
This is only working for maps on a page, when a map is placed in a widget, there is an error and all the maps on pages and widgets are NOT showen.
There is problem with the ENFOLD google map widget which causes this problem !!
Michel
August 16, 2016 at 10:52 am #673117Google Maps is not working in the footer.
I have followed the instructions to the letter, and set up a browser key.
But when I place the Google Maps widget in the footer, it does not show.
Is the Enfold dev team working on this? This is really essential for my website.
You have never let us down, so I hope you will fix this asap.August 19, 2016 at 7:26 am #674553Hi,
Please remove any of the “hotfixes” that we provided in the previous thread. Update the theme to the latest version, 3.7.1 then create a Google Map API key. More info here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key/
If that process does not solve the issue on your installation, create a new thread with the url to the site, the login credentials and the new API key. Thank you.
Best regards,
