Hi Guys,
The Google maps element isn’t displaying on https://www.we3app.com on Chrome on desktop. It works on mobile devices and Safari on desktop.
I am able to fetch the coordinates, and everything else seems to be fine, but when I update the page from the desktop and visit it (after clearing cache, etc), the section is shown, but the map is not visible. It’s just blank.I inspected the element in the browser console and the errors say:
– “You have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.”
– “Google Maps API warning: RetiredVersion https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#retired-version
uB.j @ util.js:216”I’m only including one maps element on the page and it’s causing this issue. I have already disabled all other plugins (none seem to request google API access) and read all the support tickets regarding this issue, and I wasn’t able to find the solution.
Please help.
Julian

Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.2) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/. The page you linked to leads to a 404 page.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 1, 2017 at 4:30 pm #871302Hey Rikard,
Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve made that page public again.
However, when I tried to update enfold, I get: An error occurred while updating Enfold: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.
I’m using a chromebook, so I’m unable to run Filezilla.
Are you able to take a look at those two issues with the login I provided?
Thanks again for your help.
JulianNovember 2, 2017 at 5:23 am #871538Hi,
Can you try to fix the permissions of your site via cpanel? if you can’t run ftp, since we can’t fix the file permissions via WP Dashboard even if we have admin access.
Best regards,
NikkoNovember 3, 2017 at 8:24 pm #872282Hi Nikko,
THanks for getting back to me. I think the permissions are fixed. But I added credentials to the FTP just in case.
Let me know if you’re able to figure out the issue.
Really appreciate the help on this!

Can you check if you have enough space available on your package?

BasilisNovember 6, 2017 at 10:05 pm #873365Hi Basilis,
Not sure what you’re talking about. Are you talking about Google’s limits on calling their API?
(if so, that can’t be the problem, because it works on Safari and on mobile devices, except for Chrome on Desktop)
Thanks,
JulianNovember 7, 2017 at 10:10 pm #873908Hi,
Hm it is strange to work on safari and not on Chrome.
What about other desktop browsers?Best regards,

I thought you were going go into my account to see why there are errors in the theme update so you could then update Enfold and diagnose the issue that is occurring with the Google map element….
Can you please do that?
Thanks,
JulianNovember 8, 2017 at 9:13 pm #874315I was able to update the theme, but the maps element is still not working on Chrome. I’m probably not the only user with this issue.
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
THanks,
November 9, 2017 at 5:05 am #874387Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, though I can’t reproduce the problem on Chrome. It’s working fine on my end, please see private for screenshot. Are you sure you are not getting cached results?
Best regards,
RikardNovember 9, 2017 at 5:43 pm #874794It works now. Maybe the theme update solved it.
