Hello, this is a question to all of you that are using google maps api.
Google Maps are not free anymore. On July 16th billing changes are taking place. Your Google map will probably not show up anymore. Unless you pay Google for this service. What’s your plan?

    Hey royaltask,

UPDATE: Looks like they’re going to remove the free 25,000 request per day limit and replace it with a $200 monthly free credit.

Can I still use Google Maps Platform for free?
Yes. Starting July 16, 2018, when you enable billing, you get $200 free usage every month for Maps, Routes, or Places. Based on the millions of users using our APIs today, most of them can continue to use Google Maps Platform for free with this credit.

That is more than enough for common websites.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Now I get it, if you get over the 200$ they charge for it. How many vistis are covered free?

so but – till now i have allways done that api under my google account for all of my customers. I guess they will do summ up the usage for each api?
Now i had to create an own api each customer of mine. Horrible idea – and very complicated for me now.
Is there a good alternative map creator in the web???

On german google watch blog: Some basic things like embedding cards remain completely free, no matter how often they are displayed.

So maybe it is probably not as bad as I feared

I hope so, I have done 37 websites the last years, most of them use Google Maps under my account. If I get a bill I will check for self-handdrawn maps. ;-)
