    Hi guys,

Can I get some help with this?

    Screenshot-1

This api key has no restrictions and was copied and pasted with no extra spaces here, but Enfold can’t validate it.

    Screenshot-2

    How can I fix this?

    #1353018

    Hey Marc,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

Please set an https restriction for the API key, wait for a few minutes, then try to validate it again. Or post the login details in the private field so that we can check the issue properly.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

Thanks Ismael. Do you mean this?

    Hi,
Yes, please try this and wait a little while before trying again, if this doesn’t help please include an admin login in the Private Content area so we can examine.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the guidance. I’ve tried clicking that radio button and saving about a week ago. Now I’ve come back and the page looks exactly the same. Here’s what the page looks like today June 8th:

    Screenshot-1

Sorry to trouble you with this because it’s not exactly an Enfold problem. But how do I get the API credentials to update?

    #1354572

    Hi,
Please include an admin login to your site in the Private Content area so we can investigate.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thanks very much. Please find below.

    Hi,
Thanks for the login, I tested my Google Maps API Key and it worked correctly
    2022-06-19_003.jpg
Try creating a new Google Maps API Key.

    Best regards,
    Mike

Hi Mike, thank you. I just created this new API key after creating a new project as seen here:

    https://prnt.sc/pCmVoejBXcLe

And then I immediately pasted into Enfold and get the usual result of failure:

    https://prnt.sc/qlwqbVZcY7cd

    #1355783

Here’s the API key I just created that’s failing.

    #1355829

    Hi,
I tested your API key on my demo site and see that it is failing, but my API key is working on your site and mine, so there is a problem with your API creation, but I’m not sure what it could be because your API key screenshot looks correct with “no restrictions”.
Please note in our documentation that Google maps will return an error if billing is not enabled.
So try going to your account type “billing” in the search bar and clicking the first result:
    2022-06-20_001.jpg
and ensure that you have a Billing account linked to the project
    2022-06-20_002.jpg
if not then you will need to set up a billing account.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Thank you. Please have a look here and see if you can find a problem. It looks like billing was set up automatically when I created this new project to obtain the new API key we had me create just last week.

    Hi,
It looks like you have a total of three API’s, I assume one for each of your domains, so does your other two API’s work correctly on those sites?
Have you tried the working API’s on this site?
I see that you are using Enfold v4.9.2.3, I don’t think that is the issue since my API works on your site, but try updating to v5.0.1 anyways.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1356411

    Hi Mike,

Those 3 APIs are just ones I’ve created to try to get one to work on this site. They all failed before in the same way. I’ll try updating as you suggested.

    #1356412

    Hi Mike,

There doesn’t seem to be an option to update.

    https://prnt.sc/w8kzrj5R6b7D

Clicking “check manually” just gives me this:

    Hi,
I just noticed that your screenshot shows that Your PHP version: 7.3.33, if you check the WordPress Site Health you will see that The minimum recommended version of PHP is 7.4.
    2022-06-24_009.jpg
so first update your PHP, then if that doesn’t help see our documentation and ensure that your Token meets the specific permissions to verify the purchase, if for some reason you still can’t update try to download the latest version from your Theme Forest account and upload it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New
    WordPress_Appearance_Themes_Add-Themes_Add-New.jpg
after you choose the zip file and click install, you will see a This theme is already installed message because you are updating, you can continue
    Installing_theme_from_uploaded_file_This_theme_is_already_installed.jpg
then you will see the Theme updated successfully message.

Thanks Mike, I’m starting with the php update. Can you please point me to the url of this page?

    https://prnt.sc/c2CvMdC0ZC6g

    I’ve never seen that before.

    #1356428

    Hi,
It is WordPress ▸ Dashboard ▸ Tools ▸ Site Health
I linked the direct URL below.

    Best regards,

    Hi Mike,

    I’ve successfully updated PHP.

As far as verifying my purchase and registering Enfold, I did that just a few weeks ago when updating. Please see here.

    https://prnt.sc/VYNo4z401feL

So, do I really need to try to re-register the product?

If not, should I try updating the theme again as a next step?

I’m wary of this solution however, because you mentioned above that you tested you Google Maps API Key and it worked correctly.

So, wouldn’t the problem still be with my Google account?

    #1356629

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, please try updating your theme to v5.0.1 by downloading the latest version from your Theme Forest account and uploading it to your WordPress ▸ Appearance ▸ Themes ▸ Add Themes ▸ Add New as outlined above.
I don’t believe that this is the root cause, but we should rule it out as a possibility.
It probably is something to do with your Google account but I don’t know why since you have an active billing account and you followed the steps to create an API key.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

I’ve just tried updating and the page said:

    unpacking the package

    and then

could not copy file.. some kind of language file. I think I’ve run out of space in my hosting and have to deal with this. Can you tell me where the wordpress based install attempted to place the files in my hosting account when attempting to unpack the package so I can go in and delete them and then try the FTP based update method whereby I just replace the enfold folder?

    #1356753

Nevermind, I freed up some space and am trying the normal wordpress based update method now.

    #1356755

    Update complete:

    https://prnt.sc/wR0DTWkRn2lE

I got the same failed result.

    https://prnt.sc/zAq5UxGa2PJx

    What can we try next?

    #1356775

    Hi,
Thank you, I’m not sure why this is occurring, I’ve asked the rest of the team for ideas, perhaps one has seen this before or can advise.
    Thank you for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

The problem seems to be that there isn’t billing associated with any of my projects.

    https://prnt.sc/6MZbsIQKDdCw

I’ve created all of these projects trying to solve this problem. If I click the ellipsis next to any of them, I get this error message.

Are you able to tell me why despite this page saying health checks are passed…

    https://prnt.sc/OOIENsWz1Y_c

I still don’t actually have any billing associated with these projects?

My payment method is up to date:

    https://prnt.sc/OtiNgY3K4qHj

You would think there would be somewhere in here that you could say “Hey Google, associate this project with this billing account.”

But I can’t find anything to do that.

    #1356787

    Hi,
Sorry, I don’t know about that, you will need to ask a google support member.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    Hi team,

I’m giving up on fixing this element and just discarding the maps on my site. If you think of anything else, please feel free to let me know of suggestions.

For now I’d say you can close this ticket.

    Thanks for trying anyway.

    #1356980

    Hi,
Ok, sorry that we were not more help with this, if you have any further questions please create a new thread and we will gladly try to help you. Thank you for using Enfold.

    Best regards,
    Mike

    #1357167

    Hey!

    Thank you for your patience.

We get this error whenever we try to validate the API key that you provided above. Is the project where you created the API key still active?

js?v=3.45&callback=av_backend_maps_loaded&key=APIKEYHERE:66 Google Maps JavaScript API error: ApiNotActivatedMapError
    https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#api-not-activated-map-error

And according to the documentation, this error occurs because the Maps JavaScript API is not activated in your project.

    // https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#api-not-activated-map-error

Please enable the required APIs for the map, then test the API key again or regenerate another. You might want to review the following documentation and start from the beginning.

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/google-map/#how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key

    Cheers!
    Ismael
