Hi,
I’ve been trying to set up the google maps api. However, not having much luck.
I’ve added billing and generated credentials etc but still can’t get it to work. I don’t know if I’ve missed anything but could anyone help?
Thanks,

Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. If you have a test page, then please link to that as well.
Best regards,

Thanks for that. I see that you haven’t added the key under Enfold->Google Services, could you try that first of all please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/google-map/#how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key

I have re added the key now and still no joy.

MattApril 4, 2022 at 11:46 am #1347116Hi,
Thanks for the update. I tried adding coordinates manually to a Maps element on a test page, and that seems to be working as it should. I can’t see any error messages either, which is a bit strange. Does it make any difference if you deactivate all plugins?
Best regards,
RikardApril 4, 2022 at 12:42 pm #1347128Hi Rikard,
I have tried again and get the error message: Google changed the way google maps work. You now need to
enter a valid Google Maps API Key.The Google map is also blue on the contact page once I’ve added the coordinates manually.
I’ve deactivated all plugins and still nothing.
I added a link to screen shots of the error message in private.
Thanks,
MattApril 5, 2022 at 9:01 am #1347213Hi,
You now need to
enter a valid Google Maps API Key.Yes, this is correct. You can actually enter your API key in the provided field within the Enfold > Google Services > Google Maps section. Please check the following documentation for more info on how to register your own API key.

IsmaelApril 5, 2022 at 9:27 am #1347219Hi Ismael,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have created an api key and entered it but the map is still not working.
I have also opened a new support ticket as a lot of the elements on the website have stopped working making the site appear broken.
Could someone take a look please as I have deactivated the plugins and that has not resolved the issue. Thanks,
MattApril 5, 2022 at 11:28 am #1347252Hi,
We checked the Google Services panel but we didn’t find the API key in the Enter a valid Google Maps API Key to use all map related theme functions field. Please generate an API key and place it in the field and make sure that the site domain is included in the list of http referrers under the Key Restrictions > Application Restrictions panel in your Google map console. The documentation above should help.

IsmaelApril 5, 2022 at 12:06 pm #1347262Hi Ismael,
I will re add the key and check the restrictions and let you know if it works.
Thanks,
MattApril 5, 2022 at 1:17 pm #1347273Hi Ismael,
Still can’t get it to work. I’ve re added the key changed the restrictions but still can’t get it to work.
I imagine it something so simple I’m overlooking.
I’ve shared the api key in private.
Thanks,
MattApril 5, 2022 at 1:32 pm #1347278Hi,
We get this error whenever we try to validate the API key.
Geocoding Service: This API project is not authorized to use this API. For more information on authentication and Google Maps JavaScript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
This means that the Geocoding Service API is not enabled. This is one of the requirements of the map API. This documentation should show you how to enable these services.

My bad! All sorted now. Thank you for your help!
We have three locations in the UK. I’ve added the locations but only the first location can be seen unless the user zooms out of the map. Is there a way of displaying all three waypoints without the user needing to zoom out?
Hope this makes sense and again thank you.
Thanks,
MattApril 6, 2022 at 8:03 am #1347347Hi,
Glad to know that the issue with the API has been sorted out. Regarding the location display, you can adjust the zoom settings or level in the Content > Map Settings > Zoom Level settings.
Thank you for your patience.

IsmaelMay 10, 2022 at 1:36 pm #1351162Hi Guys,
All of a sudden the google maps have stopped working on our contact form. The API key is still the same on as a couple of a months ago and we’ve not touched the maps since. Is there a reason for this? Have I missed something?
Thanks,
MattMay 10, 2022 at 5:56 pm #1351213Hi Matt,
I’m seeing this error message on your contact page: https://console.cloud.google.com/projectselector2/billing/enable?pli=1. Could you try adding billing details to the Google account which was used to create the key please?
Best regards,
RikardMay 11, 2022 at 10:14 am #1351326Hi Rikard,
Thanks for your response.
I have checked the billing and it is all correct. However, the “Free Trial” on the google cloud platform account had expired. I have selected to upgrade the account and the google maps is now working.
Would you know roughly how much a month it is to have the Google maps on the website. This is a great feature but do not want to be paying for it, as its only there to show our three site locations around the UK. Also it costs nothing for customers to simply do a google maps search if you know what I mean.
Thanks,
MattMay 11, 2022 at 11:39 am #1351350Hi Matt,
I’ve never heard of any of our customers having to pay, but billing details is a requirement from Google. As far as I can see here, the embedded option is unlimited, and thus free: https://mapsplatform.google.com/pricing/
