Thank you mensmaximus for the guidline.
That worked fine for me :-)

I had the same problem as Luke7263 with the developer site showing Google Map, but no map when the site was moved to client domain yesterday.

Hopefully ENFOLD will include a permanent solution.

@mensmaximus Thanks a lot mate, your solution is the best around.

I also had the same problem as @luke7263 and @anette777…site went live yesterday and all is well.

    All the best from downunder.

This does not seem like a good solution. I just went to google maps and grabbed the embed code. Put that code into code box and that worked for now. If the widget doesn’t work then it should be removed.

    Hi,

This issue is already fixed and users now have a new option to enter the google API key which google recently changed. Kindly request you to wait for the update to be available to download from themeforest.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Hi,

sorry for not exactly understanding, I’m a designer, not a programmer.
what does that mean “the issue is already fixed…”?
I’ve downloaded your theme today and google-maps isn’t working.
what do I have to do? hanging in the air here…

    thanks,
    Nautrino

    Hi
? what to do with my client sites ?
should I use my (1) API key for all my client websites ?
or should I create one API key per client site?
    thanks for quick response
    Stefan

    #669427

@msh One for each Client. Don’t set up projects within your Google developer account! Any call to the keys count forward to your free amount of calls. I encourage customers to setup a their own Google account and key.

    Hi there,

I followed the steps as pointed out here and just can’t get it working:
I am running the latest version of WP and Enfold.
I don’t have any caching plugins active.
I created the API key for maps as pointed out in the instruction posted by Yigit.
On the Google API side, all worked as expected, I got to that point with the pop up window with an API key, copied it and pasted it in the newly available field in Enfold settings.
When opening my contact page, where I am expecting to see the maps, I get the “Oops, something went wrong…” message and the Java Script console informs me:

Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error_.bb @ js?v=3.24&ver=1:32
    https://www.googleapis.com/identitytoolkit/v3/relyingparty/getProjectConfig?key=AIzaSyAn056WjwL-bsbFzl8wlGNg5g_cuv7MfZc&cb=1470621386342
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()

I very much appreciate your advice (Yigit, Mensmaximus, others…)
Here is the link to my website: http://tianmeng-academy.com/contact/
I can create a temporary Admin account on request.

    Thanks for your experienced help!

EDIT: It works now! I think the problem was, that I had TWO maps on that page. I just removed one of them (which was inserted using the Google Map widget) and suddenly the other one (which was inserted by use of the layout builder>media element>Google Map) could be displayed. So, I can describe the problem as well as the solution, without actually understanding the technical issue behind it.

    Hi,

Google maps works great with the latest updates please make sure in google maps API option /* is added to the end of your site name

    Example http://kriesi.at/*

    Best regards,
    Vinay

javascript console still reports this error

site (test) is http://www.nicolastrumia.it (first widget in the socket area).

I already put my API Keys from Google.

    Just subscribing, same trouble here:

    – Cannot add new locations, since the element does not fetch the coordinates
    – Existing locations are not shown; instead I get the ‘Whoops’ message

Tried all kind of workarounds, nothing does the trick so far…

    Hi,

Please review this short tutorial: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key/

Remove all “hotfix” that we provided in the previous threads.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #672268

still having: Oops! Something went wrong.
    wp 4.5.3, enfold 3.7.1
(it loads the map, then the oops-message seems to be – very quickly – laid over it.)

    update:
I had 2 maps, one in the footer and one on the contact page. after deleting the map in the footer, the map on the contact page is working now.

    Hi,

Please create a new ticket and provide the login credential so we can further investigate this issue.

I have managed to get this to work on desktop using the method provided by mensmaximus but it looks like there needs to be another api key for each type of device.

    Google API says:
“To use this API you need an API key. An API key identifies your project to check quotas and access. Go to the Credentials page to get an API key. You’ll need a key for each platform, such as Web, Android, and iOS. Learn more ”

How do I implement this fix for mobile and tablet not just web?

    #672957

Thank you for the solution. Works great for me.

    #676085

    Cheers @mensmaximus!
Worked fine for me!! God bless you!
