    Dear Support Team

I have a problem with the font display on the website https://hausverwaltung-denhoefer.de/ when I embed the GoogleFont Lato directly into the website.

Currently the GoogleFont “Lato” is loaded externally on the website. The font display is correct and as it should be: see website https://hausverwaltung-denhoefer.de/ or screenshot: https://hausverwaltung-denhoefer.de/support/googlefont2.png

However, I do not want the Google Fonts to be loaded externally. Therefore I have linked the downloaded “lato font” under Import/ Export as usual. But when I then select this downloaded font in my font settings, the whole website appears in an extremely thin, barely readable font: see screenshot: https://hausverwaltung-denhoefer.de/support/googlefont1.png

I have now changed it back to the external Googlefont, since the website is already online. To try it out, feel free to put it on the linked file temporarily and see the effect.

What can I do so that I can use the locally loaded Google Font and the typeface remains?
    Many greetings, Diana

    Hi Diana,

Please try to go to Enfold > General Styling > Typography, then enable the Heading Size (h1, h2, etc) then set the Font Weight.
    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hello Nikko,

thank you very much for the tip. I have now linked the local Google Fonts in > General Styling under the tab >Fonts (see https://hausverwaltung-denhoefer.de/support/fonts1.png
and then in > General Styling under the tab >Typography as recommended all switches to the fonts active. see: https://hausverwaltung-denhoefer.de/support/fonts2.png

The appearance in the browser is unfortunately the same again: https://hausverwaltung-denhoefer.de/support/fonts4.png

I really don’t understand it at all. I have already used this font locally on many other websites, it was never a problem. Why it displays the font so thin this time is truly a mystery to me.
What else could it be? Could you please help me?

I have now temporarily left the link to the GoogleFonts for the next few hours, maybe you can understand it better.

    Best regards Diana

    Hi Diana,

I tried to check your website on my end using chrome, firefox and edge but it does not look thin, here’s a screenshot in firefox:

The problem might be only showing up on your computer due to caching. Can you try to open it in other device?

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    Hello Nikko,

thanks for the hint. I have now loaded the page on the i-pad. Yes, you are right, here the font also appears correctly.
But why do I have this view on my desktop PC ? And in both browsers the same, both in Mozilla Firefox, as well as in Google Chrome are displayed to me these thin fonts ! I have cleared the cache several times in both browsers and reloaded everything, the view is unchanged.
Do you have any idea why this is and what I can do to make it appear correctly in my browsers again?
Dear thanks for your editing and many greetings, Diana

    Hi DianaLoola73,

I’m using windows so I’m not too familiar with mac, here’s an article I found: https://www.tomsguide.com/how-to/how-to-clear-the-cache-on-mac
    I hope it helps.

    Best regards,
    Nikko
