    Hey,

I noticed that my main font “Work Sans” (Google fonts) is not working properly in Google Chrome. I’m not sure what’s the problem with the font, maybe some font styles doesn’t work, I don’t know.

It’s working fine in Firefox, the body font for my copy is really thin, the link style is bold. It looks nice in Firefox, but not in Chrome. It seems to be shown as an Arial or something like that.

For my body i’d chosen the option “Hell” in German, I don’t know whats the name in English (maybe light or something like that?), but it’s the fourth option after Standard, Normal and Bold. After this option there are following the weights 200, 300 and so on. When I choose 200 or 300 the font gets to bold in Firefox, I just want it the way its shown in Firefox.

Thanks in advance and happy easter.

Can you help me with this issue?

    Hey anamicagmbh,

I can’t see any real difference comparing your site in Chrome and Firefox, did you try loading the site in an incognito window using Chrome?

    Best regards,

    Hi Rikard,

there is a huge difference, please see private content. I emptied the cache of course and using private/incognito mode in both browsers. The font difference is big.

Maybe its because my Mac OS is a little bit older (Sierra, 2017)…?

    Hi,

Thanks for the screenshots, but I can’t reproduce those results on my end. Please see screenshot in private, firefox is on the left. I don’t think it’s your OS either, I’m El Capitan myself which I think is older than Sierra?

Please try to see if you can reproduce the problem on a different machine.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Rikard,

thanks for the screenshot! My colleagues were taking their computers home for their home offices, so I have not much machines left in the agency to test it. On two other machines it was the same problem.

But I fixed the problem for myself: I switched to font “Barlow” instead of “Work Sans” and set the font weight to 200 which is working fine on both Firefox and Chrome. The font looks very similar. I have no idea why its not working properly with “Work Sans”, it has the same font weights as “Barlow”, even 200 or even 100. Strange thing indeed.

    Thanks for helping,
    have a nice weekend!

    Best regards
