Hi,
I’ve been trying to set up a connection with Google API so I can use the Google Maps widget on my website.
However, I keep receiving the message that there is no connection possible.
I’ve already tried generating a new API key; this doesn’t work.
I also tried deactivating all of my plug-ins and connecting with no active plug-ins, but that doesn’t work either.
Lastly, I tried removing the restrictions on the API key and connecting without any restrictions.
Nothing seems to make a difference and I’m all out of options now, so I’m hoping you can help me set up this Google Maps API.
Thank you.Kind regards,

I did not see the key in the theme options for any language.
Please share the key with us as well.

ManonMarch 13, 2020 at 3:13 am #1192811Hi Manon,
Thanks for that, I added the key to the theme backend. This is the error message I’m seeing after adding it: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#api-not-activated-map-error. Could you try following the documentation to see if that helps please?
Best regards,
RikardMarch 19, 2020 at 12:16 pm #1194387Hi Rikard,
I’ve activated and added the Javascript API, but still nothing.
I keep getting the same error message as before.
Please advise.Kind regards,

Which url did you authorize?

VictoriaMarch 20, 2020 at 10:23 am #1194749Hi Victoria,
Apparently I didn’t yet…
My knowledge of how API’s work is very limited unfortunately, which is why I asked a colleague of mine to configure all the necessary API settings.
He ensured me everything was set up right, but I just found out he didn’t configure the URL.
In the private content I’ll send you the URL I just put in myself, I hope I did so correctly.Kind regards,
ManonMarch 24, 2020 at 2:44 pm #1196395Hi Manon,
Well, it still gives the error that the url is not authorized, please check the spelling in the Google console.

VictoriaMarch 24, 2020 at 4:53 pm #1196892Hi Victoria,
I’ve tried several URL’s and it’s still not working.
I’ll send you screenshots of the settings, maybe you can see something that should or shouldn’t be there.Kind regards,
ManonMarch 26, 2020 at 4:39 pm #1198095Hi Victoria,
I have been testing a number of several url formats to get it working.
Below everything I have tested, not one of them seems to be working though.Kind regards,
Manon

It’s really weird. You might want to write to Google support.
Best regards,
