    Hello Kriesi’s team,

something desperately I turn now but to you.

For a few weeks, I neglected my website, but always provided updates. Since an update around October 10, unfortunately Google Analytics is no longer working.

I have already seen that there were problems here and there, but I can not find a solution for myself. Do I understand the following relationship correctly?

There are three options for how cookies can be accepted. Option 2 turns on all cookies and services without notification (not 100% compliant with EU law) and option 3 does not set 2 essential cookies and all others do not, which would be EU compliant.

So if that means I choose Option 3, I’m ER compliant but no longer have data in GA?

Why is GA no longer working?
Is there an option where I am EU compliant and GA still works?

In addition, I always get only the consensus bar displayed, the modal window, where the user can choose the cookies well, is not displayed, although I have the option for modal window on.

I’m pretty frustrated and just can not keep up. Do you have a tip or can someone help me? I would be very happy … Thank you.

    Hey Bert,

This is an issue of what we can get, only if there is no consent on the cookies. And based on the time u are referring, should be that.

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    Hi Basilis,

i think, i dont understand it realy.

If a user dont accept the GA cookie, than Enfold write the GA code in line 800 or so?

So for this issue, Enfold cant help me, right? Is it a thing of the GDRP or have i made a mistake?

Thanks anyway for your time and and that you have a look on my problem.

    Greetings Bert

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

The Google Analytics tracker will only work once the users accepted the cookies or if they consent to enable the services that requires cookies including the GA tracker. That is when the Default Cookie Behaviour is set to the third option, which is as you stated is the most compliant to GDPR. And as you already know, you can enable the tracker without user consent by setting the initial cookie status to the first option. Unfortunately, out of the box there is no option that can exclude the tracker from the privacy options without modifying the theme files, so what you can do is set the Default Cookie Behaviour to the first option and set the privacy modal popup window to open on page load so that the users can decide if they want to disable the cookies or not.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
