    Hi,
We purchased ENFOLD some time ago and are very happy with the theme.
We have had Google Ads appear suddenly on our website.
The only way we can remove them is to reinstall the theme.
Do you know why this is happening? And why it keeps happening?
We are at a loss – is it a vulnerability in the code?
Something we need to add to keep them away?
    Help appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Jodi

    Hey Jodi,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Since your website is currently in maintenance mode, I could not check the version you are using.

Could you please create temporary admin logins and post them here privately so we can look into it? :)

It is always recommended to keep WordPress, plugins and the theme updated to avoid such security vulnerabilities. Also, please consider using a security plugin.

    Cheers!

Also – just to let you know – I have reinstalled the theme so they probably don’t show up at the moment….but we expect them back, and don’t want to have to reinstall the theme every time it happens.

Thank you for the fast reply.
It was only in maintenance mode while I reinstalled the theme.
So it has removed the ads (temporarily), but i ant to remove them completely.
Could you give me more information about a security plugin? And some advice as to which one?
I have worked on WordPress sites for many years, and have never had this problem.
Which emails address should I use for your login?

    Thank you,
    Jodi

    Hi jajographics,

I am not seeing any ads, the theme does not add them anyhow. And the account is not admin so we cannot check anything like that.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

Thanks for the reply – but earlier in the thread I mentioned that I had reinstalled the theme to get rid of the ads.
Yigit mentioned security plugins – which I have never had to use before….can you advise what type of plugin I would need to avoid this issue please?
I dont want to have to reinstall the theme each time it happens….however it happens.

    help and guidance appreciated.thanks,
    J
