Global Find and Replace

I’ve used the plugin Search Regex for years, invaluable tool for all kinds of global find and replace requirements.
From the plugin side it SEEMS to work, in that it identifies replacement opportunities even within Advanced Editor fields, and reports that it’s changed the values, but when I look at the pages nothing has changed.

Is there some way to do global find and replace that will work on text that’s within advanced layout editor elements?
