Hi there,
recently we’ve run an update on our enfold theme. Just now we realized that since then, all our german websites disappeared from the google ranking. Only the english versions stayed in the index, which obviously rank way lower than the German websites did.
How can this happen and do you have any idea how to solve this?

Are you adding new contents to the site every now and then? Google rankings can come and go if you don’t exert enough efforts to maintain it. It’s not something permanent. Quality or updated content is one criteria required by search engines among many others. You might also want to ask google to re-crawl or re-index the pages of your site: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en
