I’m getting pretty frustrated with the General Styling. For some items, it’s obvious what you are choosing colors for. For other items, not so obvious. I’ve spent several hours really trying to fine tune things, but just can’t seem to get it. Is there a guide, video, infographic, or something out there that will explain what each section and individual items pertains to in the site. I can’t be the only person out there that has trouble with this.

    i.e.
    LOGO AREA

    • Logo Area Background Color
    • Primary Color
    • Logo Area Font Color
    • Logo Area Heading Color
    • Alternate Background Color
    • Highlight Color
    • Logo Area Secondary Font Color
    • Border Colors

    MAIN CONTENT

    • Main Content Background Color
    • Primary Color
    • Main Content Font Color
    • Main Content Heading Color
    • Alternate Background Color
    • Highlight Color

etc, etc, etc. I’ve built a few sites using Enfold and always run into this issue of trying to figure out what is what and end up spending a lot of time on it. I would just like to have it all mapped out for me once and for all so I can build with ease.

    Thank you.

Hi there!

We’re sorry that you’re frustrated with the General Styling options. :( We’ll try our best to help! :)

Each color option should have a description under it to help you. Additionally, there should be a preview of what your website will look like according to your styling settings. Are either of these not visible to you? If so, please allow us admin access so we can take a look.

We’ve tried to make it so that the color setting titles are self-explanatory, but if you have questions about specific color settings, please let us know which ones those are, and we will try to explain it for you.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Sarah

Yes – thank you. I see the explanations, but exactly what area is considered an Alternate Content Area?

I’m basically just trying to create my main navigation to have a different color when hovered on or active, but it’s all the same color. I’ve gone through and changed almost every color option and nothing happes.

and is the main navigation part of the Logo Area or the Main Content Area?

Hi!

The Alternate Content Area color setting is created to create “breaks”, if you will, especially for fullwidth elements that are next to each other, or for table rows. For most fullwidth elements, you can set Section Colors to take the settings for Logo Area, Main Color, Alternate Content, Footer, or Socket. I hope that’s helpful. :) Do let me know if it’s unclear!

The navigation is part of the Logo Area. Your main navigation items, when inactive, take the Logo Area secondary font color. When hovered over or active, they take the Logo Area font color.

You can also refer to our documentation here, if you would like to use Quick CSS for specifying other styling for your menu (such as background colors, text decoration, italization, etc.) : http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/change-the-main-menu-color/

Please let us know if you need further help!

Best regards,
Sarah

Hi,

By the way, if you make changes and nothing seems to happen, please try clearing your browser cache and refreshing a few times. If that doesn’t help, please clear your WordPress cache (if you use a plugin, or if your server has a caching service). You need to do this so that the changes will become visible.

If the changes still aren’t visible, please let us know so that we can take a look.

I hope that helps!

Best regards,
Sarah

Okay – Great! Thank you. I’m beginning to understand a little better on the General Styling. So, what in the logo area, what is the Primary color vs. Highlight color?

And then these as well
Primary color
Highlight color
Main Content font color
Main Content secondary font color
Main Content Heading color

Thank you for your help with this.

And also, if I have a sidebar, how to I adjust background, font & links for that?

#830281

Ok – I’m sorry, I’ve gone in and changed the navigation to have an orange color on hover, installed a cache plugin, cleared my browser cache and I still don’t see my changes…..

I’m stumped as to the General and Advanced Styling. I spent hours getting everything formatted and it looked great. Then I went and created a modified blockquote through the Advanced Styling. When I did this, the colors did not come out right and it changed font colors on other things. This is just one page. I really need someone to take a look.

The Blockquote on the home page should all be #f7ecd2 (orange) and then the headers for the video and image below, should be #cb0000 (light beige)

Additionaly, when I try to bold text, it turns it from the standard brown I have for all the copy to the #f7ecd2 (orange).

I really do not understand how I am not able to understand why this is happening. I’ve scoured through blog posts, and the entire backend of Enfold. It can’t be this difficult. Please help.

And I also changed the H2 tag in the advanced styling, that is associated with the lead in sentence on the home page. It is supposed to be Merriweather font and a #320000. It was working, but now it isn’t. :( Cache has been cleaned out a zillion times and browser cache too.

Hi,

It’s not working because there was a missing curly brace in the Quick CSS field’s declarations.

.avia-image-container-inner, .avia_image, .av-image-caption-overlay {
    border-radius: 0;

We added the closing curly brace.

Best regards,
Ismael
