I want to have a photo gallery on a photo gallery page and then also be able to have that same photo gallery on a post which talks about that news item.
I created a gallery using the regular wordpress add media button on a page.
I then copied the shortcode it generated and pasted it into a post; however, the WYSIWYG then displays “No items found.”
However, if I generate the same gallery in the post that I did in the page the two shortcodes are IDENTICAL.
[gallery link="file" columns="5" ids="3469,3484”]
[gallery link="file" columns="5" ids="3469,3484"]Do you know why I cannot use the same shortcode in a post and page or what would be the best way to accomplish this?

That’s going to grab images “attached” to the post. If you want to use it on other posts then you need to click the add media button again and select the images, etc etc. It’s just how the WordPress gallery shortcode works. You should see it happening in the default theme as well.

October 13, 2015 at 8:22 pm #518339I’m a little confused and I’m not sure if you can help me, but the codex says the following which means to be it’s possible.
Specifying IDs in your shortcode allows you to include images in your gallery that aren’t necessarily “attached” to your post — that is to say, not uploaded from within your post or page. This flexibility allows you to create and embed any number of galleries containing any number of images!
October 13, 2015 at 8:36 pm #518347Hey!
Sorry, your right. I believe that’s how it worked before but perhaps it was changed in one of the previous versions. I just checked it on my XAMPP setup and it’s working fine. Your currently using Enfold 3.0.8. Go ahead and update to the latest version, 3.3.2, and deactivate all plugins. If your using a caching plugin then be sure to clear it’s cache.
Send us a WordPress login if your still having trouble and we’ll take a look.
Cheers!
ElliottOctober 13, 2015 at 8:55 pm #518363So you are saying that copying the shortcode form the page and pasting it in a post should work correct?
I just added the theme info to our dev site; however, it will check every 12 hours so not sure when it will be updated. Is there a way to force it to look?
October 13, 2015 at 8:57 pm #518367Hey!
Sorry I could not understand. Have you updated the theme, or not?
Regards,
BasilisOctober 13, 2015 at 9:01 pm #518372When you go to updates it says it will check every 12 hours. I did not see an option to click a button and say update now.
October 13, 2015 at 9:02 pm #518373Now it says check manually. I will run on dev.
October 13, 2015 at 9:06 pm #518382Wow that is weird…it looks like it’s working now. Happy, but not sure what was going on.
October 13, 2015 at 9:15 pm #518394Hi!

Glad you got it sorted, let us know if you have any other questions.

ElliottOctober 13, 2015 at 9:18 pm #518396The only thing I wish is that it had the same style as when I used the avia builder gallery layout. With the border with padding and rectangular image and the hover opacity.
I think I got it thank you.

AndyOctober 19, 2015 at 10:41 pm #521226I was able to write the css and apply it to the images, the only thing missing is the animation when you scroll down, how them seem to grow/appear.
