When I try to upload images to gallery/portfolio an error message pops up. I minimize the size way down and it still won’t attach. I have tried saving for web but nothing seems to work. I have normal jpeg images and can’t get them to upload.
September 8, 2016 at 11:23 pm #683918Hey sgtsantos03,
Defining a higher memory limit in wordpress and if possible increasing the memory on the hosting server should resolve this issue.
To increase the wordpress memory limit please access wp-config.php file and add the below line
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
For a detailed explaination please check this link http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
Or you can contact your service provider and they can do it for you. After this if the issue persist Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
Login credentials include:
- The URL to the login screen.
- A valid username (with full administration capabilities).
- As well as a password for that username.
- permission to deactivate plugins if necessary.
Best regards,
VinaySeptember 9, 2016 at 12:33 am #683935I’m not sure what you mean, we have a website we are trying to create a new layout before we make it active so the other one can stay live till this one is finalized then we will host it. Does this keep me from going into gallery and uploading images? I make them as small as I can but it always creates error.

September 13, 2016 at 7:35 pm #685985September 14, 2016 at 1:47 pm #686340Hi,
please follow Vinay’s instructions and increase your php memory limit. Let us know when you’re ready. Try with a default WordPress theme to check if you get similar results and let us know about it here.

AndySeptember 14, 2016 at 5:50 pm #686530I’m sorry we aren’t all as smart as all of you but reality is we aren’t so this makes no sense to me, so step by step let me know how to make this happen. I have no idea where to find this even with his instructions.
access wp-config.php file
hence the reason I added my login info like he requested.
September 14, 2016 at 7:16 pm #686563Hey!
If you can not do it, please contact your Hosting Provider and ask them to increase php memory limit o 256M.
Thanks a lot

BasilisSeptember 15, 2016 at 10:22 pm #687136Again you have been not helpful at all. Everyone else on your team is way more helpful than you. I’d rather discuss with someone else.
September 16, 2016 at 5:02 am #687194Hi,
Do not worry we are here to help! If you followed the instructions provided earlier and still have an issue increasing the hardware memory is restricted to hosting company only hence Basilis suggest to check with the hosting guys :)
If you still have any issue after following the steps provided Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
Login credentials include:
- The URL to the login screen.
- A valid username (with full administration capabilities).
- As well as a password for that username.
- permission to deactivate plugins if necessary.

VinaySeptember 16, 2016 at 6:01 am #687233I already did this and his responses are never helpful. He has responded like this on all my questions. See below info. As I have already done this. It doesn’t make sense that I can upload other photos if this is the case.
September 16, 2016 at 12:17 pm #687435Hi,
we probably already figured out why it’s not working for you and that’s why we told you to increase your php memory limit. This has nothing to do with our theme, but with your server settings. So please do not ask us how to do it, but your host. We are here to support you with theme issues only.
Again: try with a default WP theme to check if you have the same issue or not and let us know about your results.
Best regards,
AndySeptember 16, 2016 at 5:00 pm #687617No one has even checked yet.
September 16, 2016 at 5:01 pm #687619Has anyone even logged onto my account to try and make sure this was the case? I’m able to upload other larger images, it is random which ones will upload and which won’t can someone please log on and find out that is for sure a hosting thing. Because we have live websites under same hosting and never had this issue.
September 16, 2016 at 8:05 pm #687704Hi,
In my previous reply I requested for the wordpress site credentials to check for the same as you mentioned. However the credentials you provided are for hosting control panel from which we won’t be able to take a look at the wordpress backend.
Please share the login details for your wordpress site in private so we can troubleshoot this issue for you and also if possible upload the images that are not working for you to imgur.com so we can try to reproduce the issue.
Best regards,
Vinay -
