In using the gallery for my clients blogs, is there a way for the images to swipe in the mobile view?

Swiping seems so natural on a mobile devise. Or am I missing something in my setup? Lightbox?
ThanksMarch 15, 2014 at 5:44 am #237925The issue is the smart phone not the tablet. Tapping the image on the tablet works. That doesn’t work on the smart phone. And swipe would be better on the phone than tap.

For the short term no, there isn’t a quick fix for it. The lightbox script is prettyPhoto which just doesn’t have swipe or specific mobile support at this time.
The left/right navigation areas take up 50% of the space on each side of the image for navigation which is why you can click to navigate. On mobile I believe its removed since it was causing user not to be able to close the lightbox effectively.
Some time ago Kriesi was looking for a new lightbox script but I don’t think anything ever came of it (yet).

DevinApril 3, 2014 at 3:40 pm #247083I ask because the client was disappointed with this mobile solution. She had seen another WP site we just built from scratch http://billnoblegardens.com/bills-garden/ . We used the Responsive Lightbox plugin.
April 7, 2014 at 3:16 am #247993You could replace the lightbox with a child theme and use another script. Peter did that for a client in the past and keeps a child theme online with that in place: http://www.mediafire.com/download/05ho02ecut516hu/enfold_child.zip

February 28, 2019 at 6:05 am #1072485Hi,
The default lightbox is never going to have a swipe feature support according to its author. ( https://github.com/dimsemenov/Magnific-Popup/issues/378#issuecomment-51936196 )
If you really need that functionality, you have to disable the default lightbox and look for another plugin.
