I’m not really a massive fan of fullwidth sites however i’m going to force myself to use it for my next site and i’m having a big headache with wondering what size images I should upload for the slider? By that I mean width in pixels? Some screens are massive and some are tiny, so i’m not quite sure what is the best image size bearing in mind that file size is important too!

You can check the demo. The fullscreen slider on this page (http://kriesi.at/themes/enfold/homepage/home-v7-one-page-portfolio/), for example, is using images with 1500x1500px dimension. Most of the demo sliders use images with at least 1500px in width.
