Hi there – i have a site, and on the home page is a large banner with a full width video background. The video is a self hosted .mp4 and only 1mb.

The problem is the whole page loads first, with a blank space where the video would be, then the video shows after the load delay, and this doesnt look good.

Is there anything I can do? I’d rather an image the same size showed until the video loads.

    Hey temii,

You can choose a preview video to show till the video loads.

thanks, that didn’t really help in my case because the video loads quick enough to not even show the preview image which is a 6kb image. The problem looks like the video loads after everything else on the page, but because its at the top, there is blank space until it loads, and that doesnt look good.

Hi Victoria – thanks for the link on lazy loading. It would be nice if you had mentioned how to enable in the Enfold theme.

I have checked my settings under Enfold > Performance >Responsive Images And Lazy Loading, and it is already set to Enable.

Could i please request another support team member looks into this for me, as ifeel you are not able to help me any further or understand my issue completely, will all due respect, and i appreciate your help so far.

    Hi temii,

Video lazy loading is not added to the theme yet. I will ask my colleagues to have a look at your thread.

    Hi,

You could enable Page Preloading in Enfold theme options so preloader would be displayed until your page is fully loaded. Could you please try it and let us know if that helps? :)

    Cheers!

Thanks tried it, it actually makes the whole page load much much slower, and looks worse. You can close tis ticket, i don’t think there is a solution for it.
