We are about to go live and just noticed in our homepage Fullscreen Slider that none of the video slide links are working on mobile.

If you click on the video slide on a regular computer, it works and takes you to the page the link is targeting. However, on mobile devices, when you click on the video slide it takes you in Safari to a blank page with the message, “Safari cannot open the page. The error was: The URL can’t be shown.” In Google Chrome on mobile, you don’t get any response when clicking on the video slide.

    Hey killyman,

The page is taking me to a 404, was the page removed? Which page should we be looking at?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

We just went live with the website so that is why the link I provided in the private content section no longer works. I updated the link there.

We decided to try changing the video slide caption setting from Apply Link to Image to Attach one button, but that didn’t change anything on mobile. On mobile devices, it still takes you in Safari to a blank page with the message, “Safari cannot open the page. The error was: The URL can’t be shown.” Also, on mobile we don’t even see the button to click on. Not sure why that button can’t be shown on iPhones or iPads.

On regular computers we now see the button over the slide and if we click on it, it works as expected while if we click on the video itself, it pauses the video also as to be expected. Only on mobile devices we are having all these linking issues.

Some screenshots of the current Fullscreen Slider video slide settings for reference.

    Hi killyman,

Thank you, I see that too.

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

WordPress login credentials included in private content section.

Once you log in, go to Pages then open (edit) HOME and you will see the Fullscreen Slider element with the video slides in it as the first element on the page.

That works if we want the video lightbox to pop up when the visitor clicks on the slide on mobile. But that is not what we were asking about.

On mobile devices, when you click on the video slide, instead of taking you to the portfolio page it is linked to, it takes you in Safari to a blank page with the message, “Safari cannot open the page. The error was: The URL can’t be shown.”

On regular computers, the VIEW PROJECT button link works as exepcted and takes the visitor to the targeted portfolio page.

    Hi killyman,

This slider provides the option to have buttons to take users where you want to point them, the slide itself is not used as the link, as you can see there is no option to set the slide link. So this is the behavior that is built-in.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,

There is an option under the CAPTION tab to add a link to the slide image or button. We tried both the button and image links and it only works on computers, not mobile devices. FYI, on mobile devices, the button doesn’t even appear.

So, should we just give up and assume the slider links (buttons or images) are just not possible on mobile? I feel like I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to explain the issue to you guys and it seems like you keep missing the point I’m trying to make. I’m sorry if I come across as rude, but most of the time I’ve found the Enfold support responses to be pretty much on target.

    Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the login, I took a look at your page and found there was no URL in the “Mobile Fallback Image Link” field. I added each for you, please clear your browser cache and check.

    Best regards,
    Mike
