Can’t figure out why my homepage full width easy slider images seem to lose their sharpness once they are uploaded into the Full width slider.
The images retain their quality when uploading them into Media but after inserting them into the slider, the viewing quality is significantly reduced.
The slider images were created in Photoshop Elements size at 1500 x 430 pixels with high resolution originals which were then saved & optimised at the maximum setting for online viewing.
I have set the full width image slider image size to 1500 x 430 & no stretch.
My computer is a Windows 10 laptop, with a 1080 full HD screen.

    Please advise.

    Hey Haycreations,

You need to add the code from here to your functions.php and regenerate thumbnails

    Thanks for the reply.
I have added the code to my child functions.php – increased compression to 100%
    Regenerated my thumbnails
Re-uploaded another high resolution image (of a woman wearing jewellery) in the correct size (1500 x 430) to full width easy slider
    Cleared my my browser cache
But on my screen the slider is still rendering the womans skin as pixelated.
If you view the uploaded image in Media it is sharp – with no pixelation on the skin.
It seems something happens to quality of the image once it’s uploaded to the slider.
    Please advise

    Hey,

Following is added to image links and manually removing it displays images sharper

    ?zoom=2&resize=1440%2C413&ssl=1

Could you please try de-activating all active plugins and check if that helps?

    Cheers!

    Thanks for your reply Yigit.
Deactivated all plugins & found Jetpack > Speed up your site > serve images from our servers – to be causing the image quality issue.
    You can close this thread.

    Kind Regards
