    Hi, I know mobile video backgrounds are possible when muted and with playsinline attribute. Both Apple and Google have lifted restrictions in their mobile browsers, and most people have unlimited data plans. It’s 2019 — let’s make it happen! Haha.

    I have achieved this on a Squarespace site I made for a client using a basic theme.

    I have been trying to get this to work on my personal website that uses Enfold and have successfully achieved this using a muted video with HTML5 in a code block.

    I want to use Enfold for my next client project, but need this to work in a scalable way. Ideally with your awesome Full Screen Slider element. I like how it resizes the element on mobile and the ease of adding two buttons and text.

    Would be really nice if this worked for color sections too…

    I see one of your past suggestions is to use Layerslider. It’s not very user friendly, and doesn’t seem to be working correctly on mobile anyways…

    How can I edit the Enfold Theme so it enables playsinline on mobile instead of disables it?

    I see this recent thread that touches upon it, but lacks clarity.

    Could you provide me with detailed, step-by-step directions on how to achieve this? Or something to insert in the Quick CSS?

    Would be amazing if you guys just enabled playsinline across the board for the Enfold theme.

    There are several threads in the forum asking for this over the years, and you are letting Squarespace leave you in the dust here.

    Thanks in advance for helping me solve this! I’ve included login credentials and setup a test page for you to use.

    I tried registering but can’t remember my login deets.

    Ideally, it would be great if you could just enable playsinline for all Enfold Video elements, and Color section backgrounds when the video is muted. Could you provide directions on how to enable? Using a child theme perhaps?

    I created a test page at justinkeppler.com/mobilevideo with several options for mobile video. I labeled each section. Everything works fine on desktop, but mobile browser results vary…

    Method 1
    Layerslider is simply not working on mobile. Could you advise why? I see in a couple mobile video threads you mention this as a solution that seemed to work for the user inquiring.

    Method 3
    Simple HTML5 code works well on desktop and mobile. However, I’m unable to figure out how to get the container to span the full width of the screen. Wasn’t sure how to get rid of the padding on the left and right of the video.

    Method 4
    Simple HTML5 code with a vertical video. My goal is to have the video background/headers/banners autoplay muted on mobile and take up the full screen of the mobile browser. This gets me close to my goal. I was trying to increase the width to 110% to cover up the side padding, but couldn’t figure out how to center the video.

    Method 4
    I’ve since purchased a plugin for $35 called Smart Slider. It plays on mobile. But I’m limited to one site and don’t want to have to spend more money if there is a better solution.

    Thanks for you help on this. I feel like you’ll be helping a lot of your user base by empowering them to properly utilize the playsinline feature and enable their videos to play on mobile. There are so many threads asking about this from over the years, and the previous reasons for it not working are no longer valid. If I could make it work on a lame Squarespace template, it is possible for the amazing Enfold WordPress template.

    One example of a potential solution is in the Full Screen Slider — where you check the box for a Mobile Fall-Back Image — give the option of dropping in a Mobile Fall-Back Video that is Muted.

    Or simply add a Mute Checkbox for any video include in a slider element.
